20FB Windows on Driver/Road side

What is your experience with the two dinette windows looking out on the driver or road side of the trailer? I like the large windows, and there are two! But I'm sitting looking at my neighbor's patio?

Do you pick sites that take advantage of this? Don't go to parks as much as boon-dock? Or just deal with it?

Would love to see photos of what your views have been.

Thanks

We have a Caravel 20FB and we often find that the better view is curbside if using a pull through spot. Back in spots can really vary. We are pretty selective when picking spots at forest service, state & national parks. We study airphotos, etc., to pick the best ones. We avoid commercial RV parks. We finally removed the door screen protectors and replaced the bottom one with the Airstream “75th Anniversary” script style. Looks so much better and having the top one gone makes a huge difference looking out. I just wish there were rear bedroom versions in 20’ or 23’ trailer lengths.

Willie, is that Brantley Lake? The 23’ is a rear bedroom isn’t it? The 22’ is front.

We had a 20 but three years ago we bought a 23CB International. It has the same two large windows on the street side that our 20 had but with the entire wrap around front window, we have great views while dining. We’re glad we upgraded.

Some sites we’ve been in, yeah, we’ve ended up being entertained by the neighbors (wasn’t the intention in any of the cases, but, it happened). In those cases, just pulled the roller shades down to the midpoint (using the window levers to hold the bottom rod).

But for a lot of campgrounds, it’s about the same out either direction, regardless of being on one side or the other. There was one site, it was nice, because it was spectacular both in the morning and evening, out both sides….

And! With windows on one side, door across from, we actually like the cross breeze we often get.

There've been a couple of sites where the curbside has been tucked against the vegetation, but, such times provided some privacy too, so that was okay, too.

If/when we end up boondocking, though, I think we’ll be happy with it as-is…

Only picture I have out of the dinette window, is this one I snagged while on the ferry, thought it was interesting to be looking out across the sea from inside…

Site is Antelope Island SP just northwest of Salt Lake City. Photo is actually our first night in the trailer after picking it up from Airstream of UT last October. They’re a dedicated Airstream only dealer and very nice people. You can get a 25’ Flying Cloud RB.
