16" wheels on a sport 22FB?
i'm planning on migrating from the cheap 15"Goodyear tires to the 16" Michelin tires that others are happy with
the room in the wheel well fits the 15" tires. it will have less room for the 16"
did anyone have to do any mods to get 16" tires to fit and work?
pls advise

When I changed to 16" rims and 225/75 R16 tires on our 2002 19' Bambi, I did have to modify slightly one corner of one wheel well to have equal clearance on both sides of the tire on that side. No other modification was necessary.

Just one side of the trailer and it was the rear corner. Tin snips, a bit of bending, and (perhaps) a pop rivet or screw (I don't really remember). It was easy and obvious for me, but then I have done all repairs and changes on our Airstream myself.

Before spending a lot of money on new rims and tires, check the model of the tires you have, If they are Goodyear Endurance they are American made trailer tires, all other Goodyear are made overseas and are (China Bombs). My tire store manager that sell 10 brands of tires and has a 27 ft AirStream Flying Cloud. told me the Endurance are a very good tire and is what he has on his AS with over 20,000 miles. I was going to change myself but with that recommendation we are staying with are Endurance. We have a 25ft AS flying Cloud with 10,000 miles.
Make sure to check the Air Pressure before each trip we run ours at 75PSI.

We have the same model you have and just went across the country and back. Went from Miami Florida to Spokane Washington, upstate New York and PA.No problems. Check your air pressure and Travel On!
Save your money and buy some good drink!!

Tires on New Units
The tires on the Globetrotter and Flying Cloud are
Radial Black Wall Tires, LRD 15"
Are these good tires? The page that describes everything in the new trailer shows these tires with no brand name. I am sure someone here has insight. Thanks.
