Tiffany, Will get some pics done as soon as this latest snow storm is over......Tuesday or so. Had to look hard for some workable clips to support the mirror arms and hold them in place while going down the road. Think we have it now after a trip to the hardware store and my wife finding just the right parts.

Tiff - Here are some pictures of the articulated mirror we got from Bed, Bath and Beyond. The clips work perfectly and hold the mirror securely for travel. The clips actually came from a doorstop set that included the clips to hold the end of the stop. We'll have to do some clean up on the holes remaining from the demo, but we will get to that as time permits.

Here is a bad photo of the mirror that I installed in our Sig. I think it is about 24 x 30. The little mirror that was there originally now resides on the wall beside the door in the bathroom so you can see the back of your head. We have had no securement issues. Jim

Had a moment of laughter today when viewing a YouTube video tour of a 2015 Airstream 30' bunkhouse. The newest bunkhouse version uses the exact same articulated mirror as a factory solution that my wife and I installed in the photos above. Seems we were ahead of our time. :>)

Rod, when you posted your pics I had thought you were inspired by the new ones. I didn't realize you hadn't seen them yet. You were definitely ahead of the game.

Going to service wheel bearings and seals. Been wanting to do this myself for years but have chickened out each Spring opting to take it in. I have done my research on the process and building up my confidence.

I am posting here with the specific question as to where to put the jack. I have read that there is a label that denotes where the jacking points are but my trailer does not have such labels. Please help with specifics as to how to find these safe points. Photos would be helpful.

In the past when removing a single tire, I just drive up on leveling blocks. Since I am going to pull both tires at a time, I want to get both off the ground together. I have jackstands too. Where should these be placed?

On the two Airstream trailers that I've had, any time I need to service the wheels I run one axle up on to ramps. This puts the other axle wheels off of the ground and therefore serviceable.

WineStream, I'm going to rotate the tires from front to rear axle and via a versa. I too have used the ramp approach for a single tire. Really want to know how to properly jack it up.

Sorry, thought you were doing the bearings, not rotating tires.

If you use the spare you won't have to jack.

Ok. Got the trailer jacked up today. With a quick look at the Owner Manual and by a visual process of elimination, placed the jack on the exposed C channel just behind the back wheel.

After removing the first tire, I ran into an unexpected road block; the hydronic brake shoe around the disk brake. None of my preparation reading warned of this hurdle. Does anyone have an idea as to how to free the Hub/Drum/Disk Brake?

Of course, I didn't think to take pictures before getting the wheel back on and settling in at the house.

I have a few questions. I've had my bunkhouse down at the river for the last 6-8 months. Towed it home to have some odds and ends fixed on it and on my return home noticed this white looking stuff coming out of refrigerator access. Any ideas what it is? thanks in advance. 2005 Safari Bunkhouse.

If you haven't already, try searching / reading in some refrigerator threads. This isn't going to be specific to the bunkhouse.

Does it smell like ammonia inside the fridge? If no, then does the fridge still work (i.e get cold)?

The only thing I can guess is that the ammonia system cracked during non-use and leaked out of the drain.

Yes refrigerator worked fine all weekend. Don't smell like ammonia. So should I take it to a fridge guy or RV repair shop? Really kinda odd. I'll check and ask on some refrigerator post and see if anyone has seen this before. Thanks for advice.

That tube is the condensate drain and it comes straight from the tray inside the refrigerator compartment. So it looks like something spilled in the fridge and came out the drain. Check inside and see if your milk leaked.

If the fridge is still cooling, you don't have a problem.

Do you have any update on vendor for refer cooling unit? We need to replace as well (went out about same time as yours) and we've run in to the shady vendors as well.

Yes, I used Arcticold and got good service and prompt delivery. They are Canadian but have warehouses in the US.

Instructions provided with the cooling unit were OK, but we did encounter a few things that we had to figure out ourselves. Had to drill a hole in the cooling unit insulation pack for the thermistor wire, and also had to re-drill the holes for the mounting screws that come through to the inside of the refrigerator.

Mine has been running for weeks now and seems perfect.

OK, Bunkies....got a question. I need to know what type of gasket surrounded the black tank down pipe and sealed the hole in the belly pan. Mine was apparently scraped off during repairs of an incident involving the POs. ;>) Seems to be a 6" square of 1/8" black gasket material was held by the small screws. Curious if there was anything fancier that surrounded the pipe and filled in the gap. Pictures would help. Currently "minding the gap" with aluminum tape, but would like to know what the factory solution was.

You can use any gasket you like there: neoprene, plastic, whatever seals the space. But the easiest fix would be a roll of butyl tape, which is available through hardware and many RV supply stores for $6-10. It applies like tape but fills large gaps like caulk. Easy to work with.
