Winestream ,
2 eyebolts attached thru the cabinet for the coffee table and a good nylon bungee cord, ours never move while traveling.

Hey Dave!

I was thinking something like that too but hoping that there was a method from Airstream regarding it that I couldn't find in the owners manual. Hard to think that Airstream put this option in the campers with nothing in place to secure them. Looks like a couple eye screws are in my future. I think I've got some in the garage that should be stout enough.

Out of curiosity - what is this option? Captain chairs in bunkhouse in place of dinette?

Or actually the second generation Bunkhouse dinnette is where the double chairs are on the first generation. On the first generation you could get a gaucho or the double chairs that have the flip up table which is what we have. We can all 7 of us eat at the same time easily. Mom and I on the chairs and kids at the dinette.

Usually some scoot gaurd under them works unless you do a panic stop.

Decent idea...scoot guard "rugs" under them would help.

We have the 2 chair option and have been looking for the gaucho to replace the table and 2-chairs. Any idea where we could find the gaucho to replace it at?

We too had the two chair option. We didn't like having to secure the chairs for travel and they seemed to be in our way once parked.

After seeing how the bench seats fold up in the Eddie Bauer hatch units, I was inspired. My daughter and I made a built-in daybed that is hinged and folds up. We kept a folding table that is "hidden" behind the cushions. When folded out, it provides two additional dining spaces.

We bought all the raw materials including the wood laminate and hardware. These were less than $300. We did pay to have the foam cushions upholstered.

We have the chairs and console cabinet in storage if anyone is interested in converting their unit.

I'm anticipating that some that are reading this are going to say...show me. I don't have photos but will take some later this week.

Photos show the lounge bench, the center flip up table, the bench without the cushions, and the bench in a folded up position.

We kept the wheel well cover but did not rest the new framing on it. The supports are built around the cover. When the bench is down, we wanted to have space under the bench for some storage.

Also attached are images of other work we did. The dinette has new upholstery that matches the new lounge. The laminate at the lounge flip up table, dinette table, kitchen counter, and bath lav is the boomerang pattern. The edge banding on the counters is a polished aluminium. New faucets were installed at the bath and kitchen with additional wall brushed aluminum at adjacent walls.

Wow. That's great. Did you buy the bed/couch frame or make it yourself? It looks like one of the original Airstream ones like you mentioned from the Eddie Bauer / toy-hauler model. If it was bought, could you tell us where you got it?

This is why I love the form!!! We were going to do some sort of couch over on that side to replace the flip down table that is useless to us and I think you have the perfect idea!!! Brilliant!!!! I would also be very interested if you bought or constructed that couch! Thanks for sharing a great job!

All I bought was the metal "U-shape" leg and two hinge pins. I went to the Airstream website and located the Eddie Bauer trailer parts manual. After finding the leg and hinge part numbers, I called my local dealer to order those "replacements." The rest of the lounge was custom build. The hardest material to locate was the vinyl wood grain edgebanding. Great winter project.

That looks great. We have been wanting to get away from the blue in ours. Love the new look. You may have a little side business here. I know I would order one from you.
