Thanks again, everyone! Rosmuck3- Manhattan in on our short list of places to pass through and camp next summer! I lived there for 8 years (3 Army & 5 @ K State), my wife lived there a little over 2 years getting her Master's at K State. Our kids are 9 & 10 and they can't wait to see where we lived before they came along! I appreciate everyone's advice!

Let me know Dave if you are in Kansas in the future (hopefully with your new Airstream). We would love to see it! We'll be living full time in ours come March.

Amazing how much these models are still in demand. There was a whole 9 hours between your post for sale and the response that it's pending sale.
I posted to this same thread a few years ago that we were looking for one and within 48 hours I was PM'ed, we exchanged pictures, agreed on price, and transferred a deposit to hold it until we could get there to inspect.

The prospect of not having to break down & set up the dinette and/or gaucho couch is what swayed us toward the bunkhouse. Kids in their own beds, us in ours! Looking forward to joining the bunkhouse club soon!

Dave welcome to the Bunkhouse family. We are sure going to miss our 2005 AS Safari but we are pleased that you and your family will get many years of great camping from it. Since our kids are grown it was awesome to be able to pass it down to a family with 2 young kids to be able to spend time with while living riveted. Looking forward to our search for a 25 or 27FB. One day we shall camp together.

Awesome to be a new member of the Bunkhouse Owner's Club!!! Got real lucky our first night in Fayetteville, AR. Didn't run the furnace and somehow avoided any busted pipes. It got down to 23 degrees! We're in Petit Jean SP in central AR now. Saw a Bambi when we were checking in. Almost feels like we're dreaming being in our very own Airstream!!! Thanks again, Mark!

Ya know, all of our bunkhouses (speaking of the 2005-2006 variety) are now 10 years old. They are well used and into the hands of people that are really using them because at this point, if you don't WANT the bunkhouse, you probably don't HAVE the bunkhouse. By this time too, people have started to do customization which is always fun to see what people have changed or upgraded.
Just an idea to throw out there, but maybe it's time to plan a Bunkhouse rally for the 2017 camping season? Could be open to all Airstreams, but focused on getting the 2005-2006 Bunkhouses all out and camping together.

This 2014 bunk owner would be interested. (WineStream, I think we tried this in the past, no?)

I don't know if a bunkhouse rally has been tried in the past or not. We've only had ours for 3 camping seasons so I didn't watch much here prior.
If one was tried before and didn't happen, then we try again as see if there is interest. So far it looks like OH, NJ, TX (maybe MO if Pawnguy wants to join with a new airstream???) Geographic center of those locations would be Knoxville? Asheville? Birmingham AL? Maybe we plan to tag-on to an existing rally? I've been wanting an excuse to go to Springstream, Falluminum, or Alumalina and those are in northwest Georgia and NC/SC border.
Lets see whole else chimes in over the next months. We have time to plan thanks to that darned thing called winter.

That sounds like a nice idea. I'd assume owners of a bunkhouse have children, like myself, so arranging around school schedules would be nice, i.e. summertime
Count us in.

Winestream, no, not a specific bunkhouse rally but I recall a year or two ago us trying to get a rally with kids going. Could be wrong.
Either way, it's a good idea.

Ahh, yeah, I remember that. Kids rally. Yeah, that never really took off. Let's see what we can do now. Realizing that trying to get a bunkhouse rally together likely means kids. Kinda comes with the territory. I will have my two there if we manage to pull it together.

I'd definitely be interested from WI. We have to put ours back together a bit after a mini-restoration this year, but it would be doable.

DH and I are original owners of our 2005 BH. We bought it in 2006 here in AZ in Tucson (we live in Phoenix), and we still have it. When we purchased our Airstream BH our kids were 5 & 6. Now our kids are 15 & 14, and the bunks don't really fit them anymore.
We have considered selling, but love our BH so much (especially the part about it being paid off), that even if we aren't using the bunks in the back, we still find it very livable. We have considered looking at converting the BH portion of the TT to an office space, but for now barring a few minor changes it is still all original.
If an Airstream BH get together happens DH and would be interested in meeting up for sure :-)

Summertime is best for our family too. For us, dates between the last weekend in July & the first weekend of August would be best. School here in AZ starts around August 8th or 9th.
