Hi Stephen
Since you are going to be in the area it would make sence to reinforce the receiver and fine tune your set up. If you send me an email with your warranty issues I can tell you if we can just take care of them for you or if you should plan on Jackson Center as well.
I think you will be fine for the trip. It is not as much a distance thing as the strain when you go through a dip like driving up into a gas station or even exiting your driveway. If you have to go through a spot like that you can loosen the bars and reduce the strain on the receiver. I could you send you out an shorter shank that you could rebolt your current hitch with which will move the ball in 5" closer the cost is $130.00 including shipping. If the receiver bends some on the way we can straighten it before we do the reinforce.

Hi all. We're looking to buy a 2005-2006 bunkhouse. I've got my searches set on airforums classified and ebay. If any owners here decided to sell, please post or PM. Thanks!

Ok so just a quick point
We are at topsail here in Florida and I remember previous discussions about the need (it not) for 2 AC units
Within this context of high of 80 and high humidity and blue bird skies - 1 AC unit Barry cuts it - pretty much runs all day.
Having a great time though

Upgrading to 50 amp and putting a second ac unit in the front bedroom is on my list of do it yourself projects this year. It will not be that difficult or expensive of a job. When I finally get around to doing it, I will post the whole thing here with a list of parts and costs.

new bunkhouse owner
My request a few posts back was answered! We are now bunkhouse owners! A 2005 to be exact and bought from a forums member. I can't believe how fast the whole thing happened. I never expected it. My wife and I are in the process of moving everything from the '74 to the bunkhouse and getting acclimated to our new home away from home. Now, just to replace the water heater in the '74 this weekend and get it up for sale.

Hi all:
I think I've scoured through this entire thread and even consulted the previous (original) owner of my bunkhouse about this...but, how do other people hold the captains chairs (if you have that option) in place during travel? I'm kinda tired of opening the Airstream after travelling only to find my chairs elsewhere than near the flip-up coffee table / magazine rack. I don't want to glue them to the floor as we like to move them around a bit when occupying the camper. Any brilliant ideas?

Dude, i have been chasing those chairs for 100k miles. When we hit a bump on the interstate we joke we are going to find a chair on the top bunk! Seriously i think the solution is a replacement nice folding chair or something.
