Eddie B. wheel trim on a Safari?
I like the Black Plastic Eddie Bauer trim that protects the wheel wells.
Any one tried to retro fit this to an '05 25' Safari.
Thanks

You would have to remove the outer wheel well molding, and install the EB wheel well molding retainer.

Will most Airstream dealers and/or the factory do this, or is this something that is an easy DIY mod? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks "overlander63" and "Phoenix" for input.
I've already had my trim off to do an 'undercarriage refit" so it's only a matter of a hand full of screws and a little caulking. Easy.
As part of a very minor "re-decorate" I painted the stove vent, water inlet hatch, door hinges, rock guards, bumper, rear lights and appliance hatches a nice matt black so I though the "wheel well trim" replacement might look kind of cool.
Next stop, Airsteam Parts Depot!!
I'll let you know how it goes.....My uninformed guess is $200 each....any one want to bet on actual cost??
Smooth sailing.....Oh by the way, I stumbled on a little saying today "A crowded trailer is better than an empty castle"..so true./Users/delosgurney/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/2013/Aug 15, 2013/IMG_0692.JPG

I would appreciate photos of the parts and various installation stages, along with the other modifications you have done.
Thanks!

Are the double-steps standard on this model Airstream, or were they added later? Would appreciate details on manufacturer and model number, etc.; as I would like to replace the single steps we now have.
Also, any special prep required for truck bed paint? Does it adhere OK and last in wet weather?
Would also appreciate details on powder coating. Was this DIY, or did you take it somewhere to have it done?
Very nice looking mods. Thanks for sharing details and photos.

Pheonix:
The original steps were 2 step but I installed the newer radius 2 step ones for a cost (I Think) of a little over $200 but I sold old ones for 60 after I painted them. Got them from the Airstream dealer. My partner liked the extra surface area and the carpet.
Painting the pieces "truck bed liner" matt black.
Every thing was primed per instructions on the can. Plastic was cleaned, sanded, primed and painted. Same for the aluminum bumper, wheels, appliance covers and rock guards.
Took a little time but the other day I saw an AS on the highway that had some of the same....It makes sense really...and I sort of like the matt black in contrast with the shinny aluminum.
As for durability....I think it's obvious that I will have to repaint from time to time but I consider that the cost of my insanity....beats a therapist by a long shot.
