We got a flurry of activity today and another 2 sites have been booked, 164 & 165, for a total of 7 reservations. Stone Mountain is holding 10 sites (though I'm sure they'll be more than happy to add more) for us but I've been told that if we get 15 reservations they'll waive the $10 entrance fee also. Keep us updated on your reservations please.

We have 10 reserved sites and 5 more sites have been added for our group. Joining us we have people from the Shasta Forum, Tin Can Tourists and the Glamping Forum so there will be a variety of trailers attending. Besides the usual food gatherings I think it will be great to have a Holiday Trailer Decorating contest...I can't wait to see all the light displays!

Excellent response so far. Looks like interest is really picking up! An outdoor decorating contest sounds like a natural. I always enjoy walking the neighborhood and looking at the lights. December can be an excellent month weather wise to visit.

Let us know when you switch your site over to the purple loop...currently there are 3 sites left. Let's fill them up and have to add some more!

With your reservation Silverexpress, we have 13 sites booked. This is getting exciting. Here's a recap of the event...

Stone Mountain has given us a rally rate of $41/night. We've already filled our initial 10 sites and have added 5 more, 2 of which are left but I'm sure they'll be glad to offer us more sites.

Be sure to mention my name or the Glamping Forum when you make your reservation so they book you into one of those sites and give you the discounted rate.

This has turned into a Rally however there is no schedule of events yet but we'll definitely have some shared meals, a Christmas Trailer Decorating Contest and if there is time I'd love to play Vintage Trailer Bingo again, it was such a success last time with vintage prizes given away. I have this listed in so many sites that I may miss posting something so the most up to date info can be found on my forum Dec 5-8 Stone Mountain GA - A forum dedicated to trailers, vintage or new, and how we camp in them.

Check out the video about snow mountain on the Stone Mt. Park website. No need to worry about snow because they make their own. You do need to reserve your time spot so call ahead before you head to snow mountain.

Hooray! We may have started off slow but we're gonna go big after all.

I have a call in to Stone Mountain to have them hold more sites for us. Since they already added 5 maybe we can just get them to hold 10 more this time.

If you call this weekend still mention the rally and just ask for a site closest to us (which would be starting with 158 and going down)...they may have to shuffle some bookkeeping on Monday when Darlene gets back but they should be able to take the reservation anyway.

I haven't tried it but just up the road from the campground is a nice looking lodge and convention center. May be a place to meet for some Christmas cheer or a dinner or brunch. Just a thought.

So far 15 trailers are registered for this Rally in the Purple Premium Loop. More sites are being set aside, for those interested in attending. Some ideas that have been tossed around so far are: An Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest, Decorating Trailers for the Holiday, Bingo with prizes, White Elephant gift exchange, Pot luck with Holiday Type Food Items. Keep the suggestions coming in.

A perfect rally to get you in the holiday spirit. Who knows, maybe Santa could make a special stop in the Airstream village to capture your special wishes. There will be so many light strings strung up that the rally should be visible from the International Space Station.

I will be on the same campsite as I was at the TAC Rally. The fire pit is quite close to the next campsite, so fair warning, park your trailers accordingly.

For those that might be interested I thought Thursday night we could go to the German restaurant just outside of the park gates (maybe 5 min) so we wouldn't have to cook our first night.

Hey Kristi, I think we have already have more suggestions than there will be time! It's amazing how much time gatherings take up and there are still all the fun things at the park to do, like the snow tubing, caroling/holiday street walk, and even a play just to name a few.

Also, we'll have use of the pavilion at Stone Mountain so we won't need to go anywhere outside of our loop for our group gatherings.

By all means allow plenty of time to take in Crossroads Village, especially at night. The Village will be lit up with over 2 million lights and huge Christmas themed displays. There is the Singalong Christmas Train, The Polar Express 4-D Experience, the nightly Crossroads Christmas Parade with Santa, stage productions including Crossroads Christmas Carol and Forever Christmas. A don't miss event is the Christmas Themed Laser Light show with appearances by the Snow Fairy flying through the air. All the shops in the village will be stocked up with potential Christmas gifts. Stone Mountain Park is run by the same folks that operate Dollywood so you know they can put on some Christmas. During the day there are plenty of opportunities to run, bike, hike, and canoe or kayak on the lake. There is a great boat launch in the park. The lucky ones will be those who make the reservation and show up for the rally.
