Would you like a rally ad for this event on the left column? If you have a logo together, I can use that if not I can just whip something simple up...
Lemme know

A variant of logo two is running - that's a great image - they both are. I had to change the font to fit our limited space

Newest update. Still a go!
Latest Space Shuttle News
- Payload Ready for Pad Delivery, Crew to Kennedy for TCDT
Fri, 15 Jan 2010 07:56:14 AM CST
Workers at NASA Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39A completed the loading of fuel in space shuttle Endeavour's orbital maneuvering system and auxiliary power units.
Leak checks will be performed today on the ground umbilical carrier plate quick disconnect, or GUCP. The GUCP is the overboard vent to the pad and the flame stack where the vented hydrogen is burned off.
During the weekend, launch pad teams will open the rotating service structure that protects the shuttle from inclement weather and the environment in anticipation of the STS-130 mission payload delivery scheduled for early Monday morning.
At NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Endeavour's six astronauts are preparing for their Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test, or TCDT. The crew is scheduled to arrive at Kennedy's Shuttle Landing Facility in their T-38 jets on Monday at 6 p.m. EST.

Thanks Janet!!! I've been watching the left column to see if the ad comes up but haven't seen it yet.

Can you please RSVP on the Rally Calendar.
http://www.airforums.com/forums/cale...2-5;&e=629&c=1
I'm guessing you've found that you can join KARS - or else you wouldn't be arriving on Wednesday!
Since you'll likely be the first one there - thinking you should set up camp at the far north end - just adjacent to the RV/boat storage area. I think that's the only area that can accommodate a large number of us together.

This is going to be a blast! Now I have extra incentive to get the gray tank in and bumper on so I can hit the road in time to get to the rally

Hopefully in more ways than one!
Looks like NASA is still committed to the Feb 7 launch - with plans to secure new lines at the pad, just days before launch. And backup plans to alter the mission on-orbit if the lines don't work. Though I'm a little hesitant to believe that they'd launch without operating lines (and they won't be tested until a few days before launch date).....
Looks like we might be on needles until the last minute.

My wife and I are anxiously awaiting this event. We have driven to the space center from Fort Myers 3 years ago to see a launch: cancelled. Two years ago we drove from Orlando and saw a night launch and that same year, I think, we witnessed an afternoon blastoff. Both times we cruised around living out of the back of our pickup watching the news about the launches and delays. This rally will be much different as we can park, observe a launch or delay but now at least from the comfort of our rig. I have replaced the sky lights, cleaned the vent fan covers and caulked the roof seams. We are ready.

Name Badge
I was able to come up with the attached template for name badges. However I do not have a printer. If anyone is interested, and has a printer, we can make these during the rally.

Laura, thanks for putting this all together and giving everyone this opportunity. I just found the thread and signed up for hubby and self. We are waited-listed, along with a few other hopeful souls, but are optimistic that something will open up for all of us. We would be departing from Nashville, TN and would plan on being in the area Feb. 1 or 2 in time for Atlas (Feb. 3) and staying through Endeavor. We are not eligible for KARS membership. We would find another location to camp until we could get into your group at KARS.
This is exciting stuff! I will keep an eye on this thread for more info and news.

Ahhhh- thanks for that badge. Team Leader huh? Last time I had a badge it said "Laura - Always Late - Engineering". I don't know if it insinuated that I was late or my engineering. Ever since I sorta have an aversion to badges...

SO -all retired military? I thought they were indicating only those who were assigned to PatrickAFB.
Did anyone clarity who qualifies as "official visitors of KSC"?
This would certainly be a great place to stay when I take my grandson. Wish I could make it next month but it won't be happening that soon.
Hope the Launch & Rally happens as planned, and everyone has a great time.
Carol
