Lewis and Clark Bluegrass festival June 9 - 11
Consider attending the Lewis and Clark Bluegrass Festival in Pasco, WA. This event is held at Sacajewea State Park and is real gem. Each year we provide live sound services for the festival stage and each year friends show up to help tote equipment and listen to great music. I am not organizing a rally here - we are extremely bust at this festival.. I am suggesting that it's a great way to spend a weekend and last year we had Airstreamers in the crowd.
Ordinarily there is no camping at this park - but just once per year it is open to campers. Camping is dry - but there are bathrooms and bathhouse. And camper can camp on palatial grassy lawns on the banks of the columbia river.
The festival features great bluegrass music, workshops, open mic, band scramble, festival food vendors and non-stop jamming in the camping area. Also onsite are historical re-enactors ina period ten encampment (think mountian man...) and a dutch oven rendevous.
Here's the bad news: There are no sewer services at this park. You have to dump your tanks 3 miles down the road at Hood Park (Corps or Engineers park). Volunteer roadies work hard, recieve no pay, have to buy their own tickets and may get sunburned. Sounds fun - yes? Or.. you can just come to the festival and enjoy - no work.
Parking 25.00 for weekend pass
Dry camping camping fee 10.00 per day
Showers - bring quarters
Leave the firewood at home - there are no campfires allowed here

Campers may arrive at the Park a day early and reservations (festival website) are encourgaed. This is a great family event and neophyte pickers are encouraged to participate. Last year there were about 200 trailers and the audeoince was
1500. but in this huge park - it seemed like a small event.
Don't miss this one!
