Ceebeth, call the park. They may have a wait list or have openings not posted on website (we found this out at east harbor sp) we are 43 & 44

This is the 3rd time in four years that I ll be at the Jersey Shore Haven, the Airstream only campground in south Jersey near the Island of Avalon and a very short drive to Cape May and Wildwood.

I would like to catch up with the Ohio Airstreamer's one of these weekend trips, just always seem to be busy when everyone plans these events.

The Night of Thunder at Norwalk will be Aug.8-10. We are going to be there along with several others. All are welcome but be prepared to boondock. No electricity. Dan B is heading this up. He is making arrangements so if you need more info let us know.

Btw , our friends Pattimarty and Sal and Noreen get to Jersey Shore. We had a great time there. A couple of great sea food places in the area.

Airbiscuit anniversary rally is end of October. Its on the air forums calendar ( I'd link it but the mobile app won't let me) Many Ohio peeps will be there. Come join us for that one! Also the TAC Ohio Amish rally is listed on the calendar for April!

This weekend (Aug. 15-17) will be our first visit to Geneva State Park. We are looking forward to it! Looks like there are lots of wineries and a distillery to visit. Plus all of the park features to see. Anyone else going to be there or nearby?

There are also a lot of covered bridges in that county, Some very old and others are newer.

We decided to add an impromptu trip to our schedule next week. We'll be at Scioto state park. Our real target is to see the Indian mound national park, but staying at the state park. It looks like the place doesn't book up, so we don't plan to make reservations. Should arrive Friday after work / school plus the drive.

I know this is really off-topic, but I wasn't certain where to post this. It's really a question about NOVA.............does NOVA offer a flag which we could purchase? If so, who should I contact? I don't know if I've heard anything about this in the past, but we just ordered an AirForums flag and wanted to add a NOVA one to it.

Hoping everyone is enjoying this Summer, even if Summer is winding down.

We are looking forward to the Anniversary Rally/Chili Cookoff and seeing everyone again.

Deb,
We have discussed the flags in the past. The flag has to be designed and then it has to pass inspection and adoption by WBCCI. So we have NOT gone to that length. What I did do was to make my own unofficial flag and a couple for some of the "founding" fathers to fly. If you look at my avatar (picture by my user name), you will see it. I got some funky blue fabric that had blue stars all over it and then cut out big Yellow letters for NOVA, and ironed them on and then stitched them. It has only one side, but we usually "fly" it by clipping in to the rock guards on the front of the trailer. We use the flag pole for the U.S. and Ohio flags.
We were hoping to catch up with you one weekend before the chili cook off, but I have had corneal transplant surgery (first one gone wrong, second one is fine, but having other issues with it) that has slowed us down. ugh! Hope to see you!

Hi Lou! I'm sorry to hear that the original surgery didn't quite go as planned. Is your vision okay, or are you having difficulty with that?

We, too, were hoping to see you before the chili cook-off, but my Dad has gone downhill of late, but I think I have him talked into doing assisted living respite so we can start doing a few things. I went to the ER a couple of weeks ago. Luckily it turned out not to be my heart, but being tested Monday for gallbladder disease. I just want whatever it is to be fixed so I can move on, we have a lot of living we want to do, as I'm certain you feel the same way!

So, if I sew a flag similar to the one you fabricated, do you think it would be okay with the other NOVA members when we fly ours? I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes or offend anyone.

Well, I know you haven't camped alot with NOVA, but most of us are not offended by much. We are laid back and easy to be with. So, I would say go ahead and be creative. Until we get into doing an official flag you can fly what you like!

I'm mobile right now so it's hard to link it, but there was a great article in the current free edition of Airstream Life that links to a blog of someone that visited 52 of the 55 Ohio state parks with campgrounds. I don't agree with all of the reviews, but nonetheless an interesting resource.

FYI ,anyone interested, Rod and I just booked spot 145 at Mohican SP for 9-2-14 thru 9-5-14, Nice place to relax or ride bikes ,hike and tube!! Should be a nice weekday trip!!!!
