You are right Jason that is when I took the photo. Every time I look at that pic all I think about Is what all those people must smell like. In 90 deg. weather running around in there costumes.

Probably should have read the thread before I (so confidently) said "We will be there". I was just so excited to see something about Bash III and didn't know it wasn't "come one, come all". And I don't mean that negatively.
I think I was just focused on the bacon. I LOVE BACON! Donuts aren't bad either. Or scrapple, scrapples not bad.....
Now I've read the whole thread. So, we will put it on our calendar and hope to be one of the Lucky 50. The reasoning behind limiting the size is sound and your registration process seems fair.
Fingers and toes crossed, we'd love to celebrate with you,

Are we going to have to rename The Birthday Bash to The Bacon Bash?
I wonder if Wally liked bacon? Just something to think about.

I'm sure Wally loved Bacon. Who doesn't love bacon??
A long time ago a chef told me that there are some foods that make anything you add them to taste better. They are:
Butter
Sour Cream
Cream Cheese
Good Cheddar
and...
BACON!!!
And then there's Scrapple. A regional taste treat. But if you like bacon you might want to consider trying Scrapple. Just don't put it on a salad.
Arteries are clogging even as I type this,

Scrapple is a rare find here in western PA. I have had it before. Its good but bacon is better. I like it cooked very crispy with ketchup. I have a few vintage trailer friends that have shared it at potluck breakfast at rallys in the past. It is a acquired taste.

While I do, dearly, love bacon I'm torn between which would be part of my final meal. If I get to choose.
I think my love of Scrapple is genetic rather than an acquired taste.
Bacon travels well. You can freeze it--like Nicki does. Never, ever freeze Scrapple. It turns into disgusting mush. Both of my parents were from eastern PA so I ate Scrapple from the time I ate solid foods.
I agree that anything that lists "pig snouts" as an ingredient should be tasted with caution. But once you make that leap of faith and try it properly cooked it is delicious.
There is the "crispy all the way through" school and the "crispy on the outside but thicker" school. I like it either way. Then there's the plain vs ketchup vs maple syrup debate..
Here in southern Delaware there is the Apple Scrapple Festival every fall in Bridgeville. You need to get there early before they run out of Scrapple at the best venues. Usually before 11am. No kidding. They will give you a coupon for Scrapple or you can get a Scrapple Sandwich--which is a terrible (just my opinion) intro to scrapple. Skip the sandwich and go look at the Classic Cars instead.
Don't mean to hi jack the thread. Make no mistake--Bacon Rules. From what I read--belatedly--Frank cooked 50 pounds of bacon at Bash II. That was enough for 50 people for one meal--right?
Take Care,
Sue

Scrapple has been served before. It was cut from the line up due to not being as popular and was taking up too much needed chaffing dish space.
I am a very crispy outside, thick cut so it is soft in the center. Helps it stick to the potatoes....

Bacon VS Scrapple Debate
I am of German / Pennsylvania Deutsch lineage, live pretty much in Pennsylvania Deutsch country, and also speak the language (sort of similar to German). So I have grown up with scrapple, but never ever acquired the taste for it, and it's not for the lack of trying it...pig scrapple, venison scrapple, thick cut, thin cut, fried hard, fried soft, with ketchup, and with maple syrup. I just don't care for it.
So I am firmly in the Bacon Camp
At Birthday Bash I Frank showed me an entire refrigerator FILLED with bacon and it was like I had found Shangri-La. Plus the thick cut butcher bacon that Frank gets is some of the best I've ever had.
Just remember...If you ain't Dutch...You ain't much .

I now know what I'm doing after work tonight. Bacon, beer, and the replay of the Charlie Sheen roast. Thx to all for the power of suggestion and God willing, I'll see you for BASH 3...peace and blues!

Just started my trip planning for next year... it starts by figuring out how many weeks it will take us to get to the Bash 3.0.

Hello Frank and all the Bash planners. Since a little bird (Frank) hinted to me about this rally, I've been doing some number crunching, reading, researching and calculating. I have come to the conclusion that this rally is the best value in the dollar:fun ratio. That is including the 1,400 mile tow from Central Texas. So, I'm counting the days until the post mark season opener. Tic doc goes the clock!

Totally can't wait! Seems like a long way away at this point, but if the last 6 months of travelling have been any indication, it'll fly by!
