Another TAC impromptu... Sommerset PA 14,15,16 May

The Serro Scotty Camper Enthusiasts are having Rally at Quemahonen Dam near Sommerset PA the weekend of May 14, 15, 16. They do this rally every year.

They have some extra room at the camp ground and some of us TACers are going to join them. If anyone is interested let me know and I will put you in touch with the organizer of the rally so you can be given a campsite. The cost is $10/ day with water and electric. This is one of the Corp of Enginner campgrounds and is said to be VERY nice. The group is very friendly and there will be other vintage rigs there. We camped with them a few weeks ago and a real good time...

I think it is the usual but more laid back affair. Happy hours, a potluck, a potluck breakfast. This is a real easy drive for Michigan, Ohio, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania people. I not too grueling drive for people from Connecticut that just got there trailer back from a restoration shop...
Common, I just gave ya a reason to come. Hope to see some of you there.

They sound like discerning trailer owners.

Unfortunately, they'll be at a Frank Lloyd Wright open house weekend in Chicago, far away from their trailer...which is a shame because this sounds like a fantastic campground.

PA-1 Will be supporting TAC @ The Que

Where All IN! That is Ace, Lisa. Amanda & Adam will be showing our TAC pride at The Q. We have been there before and I feel that it’s the nicest camping area in PA. The camp sites sit just off the lake’s shore. Many of the sites are shaded with trees. There is a boat ramp and tons of walking trails. There will be camper’s showing up as early as Tues . You can’t beat the deal $10 a nite. We are planning on getting there Thur. eve and stay till Sun. Now I have to decide if I’m going to bring my Airstream or Scotty “Our Sway Bars Swing Both Ways”

Wish we could make it, guys. It's just a little far from us. But TX-1 will be with you in spirit, and camping somewhere close to home that weekend.

Excited!!

Snow here in central NY... looking forward to this weekend. We'll be pulling in mid morning on Friday... at least that is the current plan.

The campground is within a 1 hour drive of 2 frank l wright houses as well as a whole lot more.

We will be there Friday night for our first camping trip with our 1 month old! We can't stay for the whole weekend - we have prior commitments- but we only live about 45 minutes away so we are coming in for Friday night. Anyone driving past is welcome to stop and check out the trailer collection and chat on Sunday- we live about 3 miles off interstate 68.

Just to second that - we loved Kentuck Knob, the smaller and lesser-known FLW house that's in the area. And whitewater kayaking the Yough is a blast, even if it did require me rolling a lot.

Have fun everyone!

Man I wish I could come. It would be my first "Airstream" get together. I would love seeing all of the vintage trailers. However my daughter is being confirmed in church this Sunday, a big day for her and it takes priority. I'll be keeping my ears/eyes open for other events that fit our (busy) schedule. This sounds like a really nice event and camping site I hope everyone has a great time. Frank give me a wave when you blow past Frederick with that new fancy diesel!

So sorry but MI-1 and family will be unable to attend. D.J.'s Pine Wood Car was fast enough to qualify him for districts again this year. And we will be racing wood instead of Aluminum.
