Great pictures, everyone!
Looks like a good time was had by all. If it is any consolation, it has been hot here in central Illinois, too, with high humidity, but was cool this morning and we are supposed to have more moderate temperatures for upcoming Moraine View this next weekend.
Travel safe,
Maggie

Thanks Steve for posting great pictures for those of us for one reason or another cannot attend. It looks like everyone had a good time. HEY and the weather cooperated too!. I really had my doubts because the previous few weeks were RAIN EVERY DAY.I really anticipated a huge mud hole. Im so glad it cleared off and dried out.

More Alumapalooza & Photos
Ok, first I admit that there were times it was so hot I just wanted to run away. It was sweltering some days, especially before the thunderstom Saturday night!
Now that we have electricity enough to run the AC (at Geneva State Park on Lake Erie), I realize it was a phenomenal once-in-a-lifetime experience. Seas of Airstreams come to mind. I'm so mad at myself that I was so hot & miserable by the time the lightening storm came Saturday night that I didn't take photos of that awesome light show reflecting off shined aluminum. I hope someone did! After the fact, I realized how beautiful and rare it was. I hope the professional photog was still there and captured it.
Overall, it's an amazing experience. It doesn't have the intimate feel of small rallies, and it's hard to really get to know anyone because it's so huge - but it was wonderful and an experience we'll never forget! Best thing, to me, was seeing all those 'Streams together and getting to see some of the most amazing, extraordinary interiors, too!
I am on a very slow internet connection (tethered), so I'm going to try now to post some photos! May take all day, but that's ok. I'm going outside to play anyway.

Just saw this note and Hunter's name seems familiar. Just wanted to ask, do you know if she is the same person that had her own Airstream forum before this one came along? Does she still do that?

Yes that is one in the same, Hunter who has the Airstream e-mail list on Yahoo. Great person, great trailer! She's done all the Airstream work herself. See the list here

In fact at International I am going to get her trophy and put it in my trailer for a couple of days for the work I have done for her. Hunter does have a cool looking trailer and she gets by with a little help from her friends. Glad she won.

Oh I am so sorry Andrew. I didn't know that I misspoke. I know she is good at the projects she does tackle. Thanks for correcting it. And yes you share the glory, congratulations to you as well and any other friends, but it does speak volumes that Hunter has so many wonderful friends and associates. I have only met her a few times but she is definitely Airstream cool. Glad for the win. I wonder if there are any Hunter/Winick/Airstream/Alumapalooza pics circulating.

Surely someone has a picture. I bet Hunter has one. I will send her an e-mail and check it out.

I used to frequent Hunter's Yahoo list prior to this site being established. I met her for the first time a few years ago up in Mackinaw City Michigan. She saw us getting off at the exit towing our Classic heading for our campground. She had a feeling it was me since she knew I had a slide and a tow van. She followed us into the campground and watched me back in. Once I unhitched she came over and introduced herself.
She's a neat person but don't cross the line on her site. She's banned quite a few over the years.

If you want to see the before and after pictures of Hunter's 1996 25' award winning Airstream you can follow her photo blog from start to finish here...
HuntersAirstream
Hunter's floorplan is a rare one with the full size side bed and extra wardrobe and storage in the bedroom. I have always admired it.
But stay tuned folks because Hunter has bought a 1949 Vagabond and I can't wait to see what magic she preforms on that unit!

Here's a link to the first of the videos from the rivet competition. I'll continue posting the actual teams as I get the chance. This is just the introduction of the teams by Rich.

Thanks to everyone putting up Alumapalooza photos. It was quite an experience. I wouldn't have missed it for the world, although it was hot at times. (Guess I better skip Burning Man!) Thanks again ~ I missed a lot of the open house so it's great you are sharing!
