Cann't argue with the USMC. We are planning to be there on Friday. Sign us up.

Not only do we need to know who is coming, but we need to know what everyones electrical and water requirements are. The current plan to to do a wagon wheel formation. In order to make this happen some will need to do without an electrical hook up. There are going to be a number of generators available for folks to top of their batteries. Water will most likely be done on a daisy chain. As folks arrive I will be parking you according to your needs.
So far we have only been told of one rig requiring both water and electric.

This is going to be a classic fall event. The air in Central New York is beginning to get quite crisp. Be sure to have a heater with you just incase you are use to the warmer climates down south. The leaves should be close to perfect for us.

We look forward to seeing everyone there.

I'll be there and all I require is the freedom to have a good time.
(I'm pretty darn sure I'm running with the right crowd on this point.)

Did I hear right that your next Prez is into wearing grass skirts?!?
(Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
I won't ask the next obvious question though. I really don't wanna know the answer.

Hi Frank,

We will be self sufficient in our unit. We will bring enough water to last the few days. We hope to be there sometime Friday morning.

See you!

List of needs:

With the turkey a nice Finger Lakes Pinot Noir.
Two new 6 Volts golf cart batteries would be nice.
The local football team with buffers would be great, will take the cheerleaders if the guys are not available.
One of those outside patio heaters
The complete works of Janis J., Muddy Waters, and Hank Williams, Sr and a 1000 watt speaker system.
Otherwise I'm all set.

Thanks for asking.

Tour Chenango

The leaves are a turning. Here's a link to some driving tours. They are out of Norwich , which is just south of the rally location.

Chenango County Fall Foliage Driving Tours

Northeast Chenango Tour

The Northwest Chenango Tour begins in the City of Norwich. Go south 4 miles on route 12 from No. Norwich to get to Norwich. In Norwich, take State Route 12 (Broad Street) south to State Route 320, just past the cemetary. From here, follow State Route 320 two and one half miles past Woods Corners. Here, State Route 320 bears to the left and runs into County Road 29.

Leaving State Route 320, follow County Road 29 into the village of New Berlin. Turn left onto State routes 8 and 80. Follow State Route 80 into the town of Columbus, the town of Sherburne and Smyrna. Other attractions await the travelers along State Route 80 in addition to the show of brilliant colors.

One of these points is just east of the Village of Sherburne on the south side of State Route 80 at Rexford Falls, cars can pull off to the side of the roadway and driven down near the gorge, which may be crossed on a footbridge from which a view of the falls is possible. Another stop along State Route 80 just west of the Village of Sherburne is the Rogers Environmental Education Center.

In Smyrna, turn onto County Road 20. Go south on County Road 20, past Sherburne four corners and make a right turn onto County Road 23. Follow that back to North Norwich and the rally site.

I wanted to let folks know that I am going to The Northeast's premier natural show cave, Family Fun, New York State Attractions and will be able to take a few people with me. If anyone is interested in going, please let me know. I am planning to go a scenic way through Cooperstown and along Otsego Lake. I plan to do this trip on Saturday. I have a quad cab with plenty of room.

If anyone is interested in catching fish, I would be happy to show you some of my "secret" holes in the Chenango River. This past week we pulled a 24 inch and a 27 inch walleye out of there. I'll have the trailer that's "under construction", or have Rob or Frank point me out.

John

We are interested in going to Cooperstown and Howe Caverns too. So much is happening on Saturday though! When were you planning on going and coming back?

The weather outlook

I'll be following this all this week. Also posting a picture of Rexford Falls up in Sherburne, just outside of town on the eastern side - about 8 miles from the rally site. They are neat falls. Also, just a quick shot of the wagon wheel and how I see it in the park...albeit a few more trailers in the wheel.

Right after breakfast to somewhere in the early afternoon. You know me Don, I do not want to miss happy hour or the couple of hours leading into happy hour. I have a new personal rule that at each rally I have to go out and see a point of interest. I have a water decal for Howe Caverns and that is all the excuse I need. So often I just hang out and visit at the site. I venture out just for supplies, and I am trying to change that. You are more than welcome to join me.

Taken this morning

Here are two pictures taken out the driveway... it's really grey outside right now, but the leaves are really nice! The pictures don't do it justice.

Enjoy!

You have a great plan Rob. Too bad that we will miss some of it.

Our plan is to leave home on Friday afternoon (after-school) and drive up. Hope to be there before pot-luck.

See you.
