I did have to do some fiberglass work to it. There were some cracks in one corner and when I got into it , I found that it had been repaired with Chore Girl scrubbing pads and body putty and that the corner was missing (guy must have hit a post with it or something). Also , he had run tires that were to big and burned holes in the wheel wells and screwed plastic lids from something over those; they had to be fixed as well. It never ceases to amaze me what a true hillbilly trailer owner can come up with when it comes to repairs. Some of the electrical and plumbing he performed were also woks of art.

This looks like a great oppurtunity but I won't be able to make the event. Does anyone know of any references that would equally cover the topics being taught? Dvd's, books, websites?

We're in! We're in! We're in!

We will be without our trailer and coming to find out specifically about electrical, plumbing, shell back-on attachment, and to kiss Uwe.

See you there!!

Just a little update - we will have over 200 attending this event - we have a number of vendors represented - Cyclo, Worthington tanks, Fan-tastic Fan, Vintage Trailer Supply, VAP to name just a few.

The professional instructors we have are great and we are working hard to zero in on the schedule which will be available soon.

We have a block of hotel rooms for those who cannot bring a trailer.

We are getting close to full, so if you are thinking about this, do not hesitate...

I'd love to attend and would be flying in from New York, booking a hotel and renting a car. Because of the oddities of flight scheduling, I won't get in until nearly midnight on Thursday and to be there for Sunday I'll have to take Monday off from work as well.

Is there a rough schedule available? What has the schedule been like in the past. For instance, what would I be missing Thursday evening?

If any of you previous attendees can fill me in, I'll be thankful.

On Thurs evening we do a presentation by someone who has completely restored their own trailer - this year is especially great as we will have someone present a video of his restoration from skills learned from our prior restoration events! Sunday we pretty much wrap things up at noon and reserve the afternoon for presenters to be available to talk and look at individual projects....

Thanks, Ken! That was a super quick reply.
What are Friday and Saturday likely to look like as far as seminars? Is it like a 9-5 schedule or do things run later?

The Mrs. And I are registered and the flight is booked! Based on your description, we are opting to fly out Wednesday so we can make Thursday's introductory presentation. It sounds like the event will be fantastic and we are very much looking forward to it.

Now, any recommended sights to see in Albequerque?

Well, first we can't understand why you would want to do anything other than vintage Airstreams while here - but yes there is a lot to here - I've attached a list of things to do in Albq

I have a 67 Oberlander that I converted into a Italian food truck in albuquerque. Sebastiano's Food Truck LLC. I would love to be part of the event and serve the visitors there. How can I make this happen? 505-699-0160 or sebastianosfooftruck@gmail.com

I hope Sebastiano shows at the Park. I suggest call them and work something out.

Airstream Academy

Just wondering if we should bring the Airstream....is it best to have your own Airstream to reference? We have gutted the inside...took her to the Airstream Factory in Ohio....new wiring....lights....new interior aluminum walls....ready for cabinets and upholstery and the working components re-installed. Any thoughts?

I don't know, but I think that is a yes. I would love to see your wiring locations, even if they are under the inner skin already, to see where the plugs are.

I have seen many "campers" in their gutted Airstreams at the Restoration Rallys. Bring it.
