Registrations Rolling In

We are home from our Spring travels (Civil War III Caravan - fantastic experience!) and ready to accept your registration for the TX Vintage Rally "COME & TAKE IT!" - October 3-7,2013 in Gonzales, TX.

Registrations are coming in so be thinking about joining us and bringing a buddy or two. All owners of Airstreams, vintage or not, are invited to share in this festive weekend. We'll issue more specifics on the rally events by Fall. Check out our unit website www.thlu.org for more details.

I was wondering how do I approach people to check out their set up? We are excited!
We will be there with a 1972 Argosy. It is red and white. If you want to see what we have done to it come by and I will be glad to show it off.

I am so glad that you decided to have this rally! It's finally given us a goal and deadline. My husband (John) and I are redoing a 1973 27' Overlander which might still be a big aluminum tent but we plan to be there. This will be our first rally and first trip with the AS. We are looking forward to meeting you all!

Two years ago the Texas Vintage Rally was our first; it was great! Friendly, enthusiastic people, great workshops & demonstrations, catered dinners, and the open house was the best. We were hooked! Glad you'll be joining us and know you will love it!

If it's not cooler by then I'll be thinking about moving! Sounds like a bunch of the HOTC crowd is going, I sent my registration in last week.

Last year when we scoped out the rally site and festival, we had 50 degrees to 84 degrees over the 3 day weekend and no rain. So you should have your choice of weather!

You don't have to be vintage, just an Airstreamer. Come one, come all! We are there to have fun.

So far 50% of our registrations are from vintage owners so we will have a good mix of attendees.

Several folks have asked about the Vintage Rally Schedule. We are still working on it...but here is a rough idea of events planned so far. Thurs: Parking, Snack Supper, "Get Acquainted"; Friday: Workshops/classes all day, Catered BBQ Dinner; Saturday: Festival Parade in AM, Classes in afternoon, Catered Mexican Dinner, Sunday: Flea Market in AM, Vintage Open House in afternoon, Pot Luck Supper; Monday AM: Farewells and Departure. There will be events in town - craft booths, photo/art show, food court, amusement rides & music which will occur over the 3 days so you should be able to fit those into your schedule as well. Hope this helps you plan your visit with us!

Hope to make it. Do we need to preregister? Trying to get our trailer road worthy it will be our first rally in our first airstream. May be an alum tent but working on it.

Pre-registration

You don't absolutely have to preregister, but it is very hard to run a big rally when we don't know how many are going to show up. At least register a week or two early so that we can guarantee the catered meals and prepare handouts, badges, etc..

Still a bit fluid, but look for solar installations, plumbing and wiring, woodworking hardware, cooking on the road, and more.

Some special ones for the fairer sex and anyone else interested.

Is it OK to list flea market items on this thread as I would not want to haul a few large items if no one is interested
