Christams party
I hope you guys had a great time in Myrtle Beach.
Sorry we missed you but I did have you on my mind while I was working on the ol' Overlander.
I put a full length window awning on the streetside this weekend.
I like it alot, so much that it motivated me to make a new awning cover for the rear window. I ordered the material and I expect it to be here tomorrow. I have the sewing machine ready to go.
I am also going to make wheel covers seeing that I already have the mounting brackets over the wheel wells.
Anyway, the Overlander should have different look to it at the next rally. I am looking forward to it.
I am thinking about stripping the coating off this weekend, weather permitting. I have talked to Fred B. about an assist and I am hoping that he will steer me in the right direction.
Until next time,
Smily

Plans are really shaping up for our joint rally in March; some fun things. some new things, lot's of great food, some different activities & maybe a surprise or two! Debbie & Carolyn are in "creative mode" so don't be left out of the fun. Call KOA Mt. Pleasant & reserve your site in the block set aside for the rally.

Overlander has ridden into the sunset
Sigh........................
twas' truly a depressing day yesterday.
My trusty, coveted, 1971 Overlander headed off to other campgrounds and roads without me yesterday.
Thats right the ol' girl is someone elses pride and joy now.
I hope that the new owners have half as much fun as we did with the Overlander.
Regrettfully, we will not be able to attend the rally at Columbia. We are feverishly restoring the 1979 Sovereign in hopes of making it to the Joint Rally in March at the KOA in Mount Pleasant SC.
Hope you guys have fun!

Rally
Sorry you won't be joining us this weekend.
Look forward to seeing you in March at the KOA Mt. Pleasant.
Went by there today to pick up information to pass out at the rally this week end.
Know you had a sad but happy time to see your trailer depart. There will be other memories to build in your present trailer.
See you down the road.

KOA Mount Pleasant
Joint Rally next weekend with the SCCU and the ENCU in MT Pleasant South Carolina. (March 6 - 9)
Make reservations early. You can do so at www.KOA.com tell them you are with the Airstream rally.
Lots of fun and food at this months rally, I have heard rumor that a the famous Frogmore stew is in order for Saturday night.
For those of you wondering what Frogmore Stew is.........
Long ago during the plantation days, way down south, outside of Beaufort SC, a small village named Frogmore became famous for its local fare consisting of shrimp, new potatoes, corn, onions, and smoked sausage was boiled together with some spices and Low(country) and behold... Frogmore stew. A true lowcountry tradition.
Now I dont expect you yankees to understand this concoction but if you ever get your tastebuds onto some of this stew, you just may head south to stay.
I have tried of Brunswick stew, it is good stuff but that is not even close to the splendor of Frogmore stew.
Come join us lakeside at the KOA for some good ol' WBCCI family fun. There even going to be two nights of fast paced horse racing. Bring your whip, beanie and riding boots.
I am bringing my new project.......1979 Sovereign, tours for everyone

Frogmore Stew
I heartily approve of Frogmore Stew & not being a native of S.C I had to learn to eat in a totally different way. However, I'm a fast learner so in no time at all I was not only eating it--I was cooking it ---& before long I was even passing along the recipe! Now--I've heard there are certain members in SCCU (who shall remain unnamed) who refuse to even eat it unles it is more properly refered to as Beaufort Stew! One thing I am sure of is that whatever you call it David, Carolyn, Fim & Debbie know how to cook it! So come prepared to enjoy yourselves.

SC State Rally 2004
Have you heard?
The WBCCI South Carolina State Rally is scheduled for October 2004 right outside of Myrtle Beach SC.
I have spoken with the sponsor of the Rally and I gotta tell ya, this rally will set a new standard for all rallies within the WBCCI.
Even the advertised 'Homecoming Rally" at Jackson Center could learn a thing or two from this rally.
This rally is being held at a brand new campground outfitted with jacuzzi's on site, lakeshore sites, full hookups.
And I dont know where to begin telling you of the entertainment and events the sponsor has lined up.
I have been told that the meals will all be catered professionally, down to the breakfast. Not just your average pancake breakfast but a full blown cooked to order omelet with chef's doing the preparation, linens on the tables and maybe even candles.
There will be professional entertainment for all ages, sponsors from Airstream dealerships, Tow vehicle dealerships, RV Suppliers, How to seminars by Home Depot and others. Airstream Decorating contest, Costume contest, a Halloween extravaganza. Live bands, A profesional DJ, Dancing, Shopping trips with shuttle to and from, Golf outings, Tours, and so much more to do.
The sponsor told me that he planned to leave an everlasting impression on the WBCCI. He furthermore told me that he intends for every attendee to receive a gift of some form or fashion.
Did I mention that Myrtle Beach is within 20 minutes from the capmground? If you know anything about Myrtle Beach then you are aware of the many things to do and see.
I will tell you this, as I listened to the sponsor speak about the Rally, found myself in awe of the fortitude that this individual conveyed. (He is also a member of this forum).
I suspect that this event will definitely sell out so you better get in quick. Last I checked they already had presold half of the tickets.
This event is open to any and all WBCCI members so if you are not a member, you better get joined up before October 2004.
Come one come all!
Rally on!

Fantastic Christmas Rally
If you think that you cant have a great Christmas Rally in the cold weather, you have another think coming.
We had a fantastic time in Myrtle Beach. There was great food, fun and fellowship for all who attended.
Not only did we have thoughts and warmth for those that attended, we had a fund raiser for a donation to unemployed people here in South Carolina. We had a Casino night and the excitement was as though it was real money. If you did not make it to the rally, you missed a great time. I highly recommend that you make the next rally in KOA campground Mount Pleasant SC.
The rally will be the first weekend in January so there will be plenty of New Years festivities.
Come one, come all

New Year in Mount Pleasant SC
It is getting close to that time again, the first weekend of the month and the New Year. The SCCU invites you to attend the January Unit Rally to be held in KOA campground, Mount Pleasant South Carolina. Myself and a few others will be going on December 30th for a Pre Rally New Years celebration. Come and join us.
What a way to bring in the New Year, great friends, no driving home intoxicated and best of all being with the ones you love in the Airstream.
Now top that for a New Years celebration!
I only wish that the Soldiers afar could be with the ones they love for Christmas and the New Year festivities.
We hope to see you there, all are welcome.
Come on come all,

Thanks to all of the attendees and the guest'.
We were fortunate enough to have a two families come and ask about joining the Unit. I know you folks will see this so I say to you, get signed up quick and join us for next months rally in Columbia SC at the Barn Yard Campground.
And even more importantly, get signed up and grab one of the six tickets left for the SC State rally. As I said a couple of months ago, this event will SELL OUT. It is limited to 65 units at this time and there are only six left.
I am going to go nap now because I am pooped. That was almost too much fun.

Thanks for letting us in on the fun, Bo! (Beau?)
I had a great time there. Y'all really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
Let's see, steamed oysters & chili, Frogmore stew, more steamed oysters & chili, beef stroganoff, and shrimp creole! Did I mention the champagne?
It was one of the most memorable rallies I've ever attended. Now if only I can remember everyone's name next time we run into each other.
All that activity just wore Windsor out. He just sat in my lap all the way home!

WOW, what a rally, the S.C. Coastal Unit had this past weekend. It pays to go early!!!
Everyone enjoyed the FOOD, FUN, FELLOWSHIP, and NIGHTLY FIRESIDE CHATS. For once the working members out numbered the retirees, even though, we missed those who were not present.
It was great meeting Edie and Brett, thank you for coming such a long way to join us.

February Rally
I am too excited about the next rally and I am ready to get the word out a little early.
Next rally is February 4-6 at Barnyard Campground in Lexington SC, just outside of Columbia.
The CG is located adjacent to a huge flea market with plenty of good shops. Plan to be there and see my new to me MH. I am hoping to have the interior completely redone before rally time.
Hope to see you there.

The February Unit Rally for the SCCU is scheduled for this weekend, Feb 5-8 at Barnyard RV Park.
You can make your reservations by going to WWW.barnyardrvpark.com
This is a "Buddy Rally" so if you have friends in SOB's, invite them along. The more the merrier.
Crissy and I will be going on Friday Afternoon.
Some of the fun includes, Attitude Adjustment at 4 pm Friday afternoon. Breakfast on Saturday morning, Dinner on Saturday night. Continental Breakfast on Sunday morning following Sunday Service by Marilee Morris. There will be games and plenty of Flea Marketing for you shoppers.

Smiley, we are going to the rally on Thursday and are definitly looking forward to seeing you and Chrissy there in your new motorhome. I know it will be a super rally as they all are but none can compare with the world class rally in January---that one will go down in history

Still Workin'
Hey, working is justification for going to Rallies. We also are "Still Workin" as many of our unit members. You will be in good company because a good number of our membrs are still working.
Shoot, several of our officers are still working.
Our Past President is still working.
Did I mention that many of us are raising families? I have a nine year old and one on the way.
If that is not living proof, that the WBCCI is for everyone, I dont know what is. Some say that they cannot find the time to rally and or be members of the WBCCI. Well let me say this: there are no requiremnts for attendance or minumum rallies etc....
You can go anytime you like. We meet once a month except July and August. We travel all over SC and sometimes get to a neighbor state when we "Joint Rally" with other WBCCI units. We are fortunate that our unit is so diverse and the neighboring units including the Eastern North Carolina Unit are so much fun.
Even if you have to come from the next state or country, you will always be welcome in our unit and our functions.
Come one Come all!
