Cool Rally!!!!!
Great pics and skirts!
It sure shows how much fun everyone had.
It looks so pretty that we're thinking of coming in your area for a week next month.
Any suggestions on an animal friendly campground near Charleston, SC?

Campgrounds in Chas.
If you want to be close to the downtown and historic district, James Island County park is very nice and plenty to see with free shuttles to Downtown.
If you want to be a little further away but close to plenty of shopping and grocery store, KOA Mount Pleasant is very nice also.
Both are pet friendly and run by good people.
There is indoor heated pool at James Island KOA but no pool at James Island. The KOA will not cost as much either.
The James Island Campground will be closer to our Unit Rally location next month, you could come and Rally with us, for schedule, check website

Thanks ken for the prompt response and suggestions.
Do you have by any chance a web link to those two campgrounds?
We'd love to come to the rally but our vacation is 4/24-5/2 and your calendar shows no plans for that week. Sigh!

Its Rally time again!
This one is right here in Charleston, well a few miles out of Charleston in Hollywood SC.
This one is a dry camp so come prepered. I believe water will be available for tank filling.
If you would like to see a real good time with fellow Airstreamers, come and join us. The Rally starts today for Early Birds and runs through Sunday. There will be Hikes in the ACE Basin, (a historic reserve), great salt water fishing, games, campfires, and lots of cheer. The meal is even going to be a local favorite, Frogmore stew, a concoction of shrimp, new potatoes, corn on the cob, and smoked sausage.
If you would like to join us you can get the details at the link below.
Come one Come all!

A hit!
30 Amp Camp was another hit! Who says you gotta have hook ups to camp?
This one was so good there were many request for a repeat. As you may or may not know, this one was an alternative to a previous plan. WOW, what an alternative. It was beautiful here in the lowcountry of SC, We were camped on a members property, (Stuart Blakeney and family) which is right on a tidal creek, It was beautiful! Truly a blessed weekend culminating with Palm Sunday.
If you could not make this weekend, maybe you can join us at Region 3 Rally next month here in the Charleston area and see our beautiful lowcountry.
Did you see "Forest Gump" and/or "Prince of Tides"? It was filmed right here and if you recall all of the beautiful scenery then you know what lowcountry is all about.
The SCCU website has been updated, you can visit it at the link below.

Smiley-you mentioned replacing the awning--I have a '74 AS and have not found any way of obtaining the 'frame' or any used awnings for an AS. Apparently these are hard to come by. Thought if I could obtain the framework (hardware) and maybe I could fiqure out a way to purchase the awning material and attach it to the framework as I have heard of others replacing rotted material from Lowe's ect...Have you heard of anyone making their own framework? I looked up 'Zip Dee', and all of there awnings appear for be for a 'SOB' with the usual boxy straight sided get-up---not like the gracefully curved design of the AS.....

Um, dont know what you are referring to
If you are asking my take on the Region 3 Rally, it was FANTASTIC!
I was only there for the weekend so, my comments would not be very encompassing. It is safe to say that any time the SCCU Rallies, it will be eventful and lots of fun.
Have you been to any Rallies?

Kennedy Grace Smillie
To all our close friends and members (Our other family), of the SCCU, Our little girl has arrived and doing well. She is healthy and very alert, I can tell she is ready to go camping already.
Kennedy Grace Smillie was born on July 23 at 2:46 in the afternoon. She is 7 lbs 6 oz and 19-3/4 inches long with a head full of dark hair.
Her mother Crissy is doing well and we plan to go home today.
We thank you for all your payers and always being there for us. We truly consider you all family.
It would be a beautiful world if all Airstreamers could witness and experience the family bonding that we have in the SCCU.
We look forward to seeing you all at the next rally if not sooner.
Ken, Crissy, Christopher and Kennedy Smillie

Our special prayers and well wishes have yielded another answer to all of our prayers.
Mother and daughter are well and healthy. Of course Dad is obviously beaming.
Debbie & I were talking about the Smiley arrival just yesterday not knowing that the stork had arrived with the Buddins and Wingards.
Congratulations.....Yet another chapter in the Airstream family has been added.
Fim & Debbie
