We are admittedly a low probability attendee for this rally. We will be heading west starting the 18th (maybe late day 17th) from Atlanta. We want to take back roads as much as possible (avoid the highways), so getting to the rally in time will be a real outside shot. None the less, we will be heading your way - we'll see how things go...

That looks like a nice state park. We'll be traveling east from the Hubbell Trading Post Auction on the 19th and then stop at Canyon de Chelly, but thanks for letting us know about this park. It might be a good place for us to stop after the rally, but I'm sure the aura of Airstreams will still be shimmering in the air.

Gene

There will be a few of us staying a few days longer. We stayed there several years ago andthere is some great Kokanee Salmon fishing there. There is actually another lake below Heron that flows into Pecos River. Little bit more difficult to get to but guess it has some excellent fishing also.

We will keep an eye out for you.

We are thinking of heading up Wednesday the 16th and leaving the 21st. Is one day for travel doable from Tucson?

It would be a long day!!!!!!!! Tucson to Santa Fe is about 450 - 500 +/- miles depending on route. Heron Lake SP is about 125 mi north of Santa Fe off of US 84 - another 2.5 hours or so.

I'm finally figuring out what we're doing and it looks like we may (have to clear this with Barb) arrive there for the Post Rally Informal Who's Left Nonevent on the 21st (Mon.) and leave on the 23rd (Wed.). Looks like if anyone is still there it will be at the Blanco electric sites which seem to have water also. Even though we have a Colorado state parks pass, this is cheaper since the entrance fee is apparently waived for campers. Looks like you have to call to make reservations as the website is kinda strange and even checking for availability in the next 10 days doesn't work.

We never seem to fit rallies into our schedule (and still aren't actually), but it would be good to meet some of the faces behind the names and to see Rodney again (a face I have seen and it's really not so scary).

Rodney, We'll be there on the 21st through 23rd. No reservations possible at that time of year except perhaps for 4CU members who know how to do things. I'm sure there will be plenty of spaces in the 3rd week of September.

Gene - I'm really sorry that we won't get a chance to meet you. If we do the rally again next year you'll hopefully be able to be there for the kickoff.

there should be plenty of space available when you get there. The park staff is reserving 24 spaces in the blanco loop for us.

Looks like there is still room at the 4 Corners Unit WBCCI Heron Lake NM Rally 17-20 Sept, so if you've been thinking of coming but haven't committed, now's your chance! Let Jim (Jimandrod) know... If you're not a WBCCI member and want to check the 4CUnit out, let us know!

There are three of us overnighting in Gallup, but we are going up through Flagstaff and over on I-40. Not sure of a good halfway point on 25. If you decide to go up through Winkelman and up through Show Low, you are more than welcome to meet up with our little caravan in Holbrook.

Looks like we will get away Wed. morning also. We are not a great distance away so will be in the adjoining loop that evening.

Jim, I hope you have put together an agenda or whatever you want to call it to pass out to the incoming units so they know what to expect.

Louis/Terry/Julianne, travel safely....

As Louis said, you are more than welcome to join us in Holbrook Wed...we are staying overnight Tuesday at Fool Hollow State Park in Show Low, then Wednesday meeting up with Louis & Sergio and Julianne in their rigs in Holbrook to head over to Gallup where we'll overnight at the USA RV Park there...then on to Heron Lake Thursday. PM me if you want Gallup particulars.

If you go up I-25 there are a number of NM State Parks just off I-25 on the Rio Grande...Leasburg Dam State Park just north of Las Cruces...Caballo Lake State Park south of Truth or Consequences, NM...and Elephant Butte State Park north of Truth or Consequences... Haven't explored parks north of that yet...but here is a link to the NM State Parks...good rates and usually electric & water available. New Mexico State Parks We'll be returning home via I-25 20 or 21 Sept...

Looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks folks. Think we'll take I10 to Deming then the shortcut to Hatch and I25 at least past Socorro. I'm sure we'll find something interesting.

looking forward to meet everyone.

Yes Bob I have an agenda prepared. I sent you a copy the day before yesterday.

The park personnel is closing the Blanco loop Wednesday to clear out any other campers. It will re-open for us on Thursday afternoon for our rally. So, unless you just really want to be there there is no need to go early.

Caballo Lake State Park is really nice. There are several private RV parks in that area too. If you make it closer to Albuquerque there is a nice RV park at the Isleta Pueblo just South of Albuquerque. That will leave you about 4 hours to go to Heron
