Rally in the Valley

Rally in the Valley

(North Valley Campground, North Adams, Ma)

May 28-31, 2010

Thank you Pam-NEU and Deborah-WDCU for arranging a joint rally on Memorial Day weekend. Many of us can't wait to attend and explore the Berkshires and southern Vermont. Looking forward to meeting new friends from the WDCU.

We will be bringing our bikes and hiking/walking gear. Hope to hike and ride with other folks and maybe plan to arrange a small picnic. Also look forward to the group activities.

Good Long Weekend event

Hi, were full up but will take applications for the waiting list. Should there be a cancellation, we will contact you on a first application in basis.

What's happening at the rally and surrounding area? We will be visiting the Hancock Shaker Museum, Mt. Greylock, North Adams, Moma, Vermont Artisans Open Studio Weekend, and tons more.

Attendees, if you know of an awesome activity, place to visit or activity, let us know. We will be posting on the information board at the rally site.

Lots of good ideas and energy here, with these hosts. We have a restful weekend planned, with lots of opportunities for you all. Do as much or as little as you like, with the others or on your own. Then we'll meet back up at the end of the day for happy hour, dinner and a campfire.

Our First Rally!

Hi All!

Yep, Rally in the Valley will be our first Rally. We're really looking forward to it!! Actually this will also be our first voyage in our "new" 74 Airstream. We had hoped to be out on the road last weekend, but refurbishing got a little behind schedule.

Can't wait to meet you all

Check out this site. We plan to visit again while attending the rally.

Anyone up for a bike climb of Mt Greylock? Think about Saturday morning.

I definitely want to get a visit in to the museum. I have never been there.

Mt. Greylock...I could meet you at the top.

I am IN for the hike, as long as I can bring the boys.

Are you guys going to see the "Chocolate Drops", or was it "The Duke"????

We just missed the "Drops" at a live show up our way this winter (sold out) but caught them on a local Portland TV show. They look like a fun show and we would be up for going.

I will be up north this week work/camping but can ask my social assistant Jane to order tickets from the MoMa site. They also mention selling tickets at the door. This may be the best option as the computer scares Jane!

So we are in to going to the show. Anyone else?

Hancock Shaker Museum

We are hoping to get a visit in to the Hancock Shaker Village this weekend as well. Maybe Sunday before or after the North Adams tour.

Lots to do!

Kayaks?

I heard that Gail and Titu are talking about kayaking. We are on a lake, so that would be great.

Will just be getting the new tow hitch for the Jeep. I don't know about racks for the top, so I will have to talk to Chuck about that. If we can manage, we'll bring them along.

I may be IN for kayaking.....can't do it all, though. I will bring mine if others are.

I may be IN for the "drops", depending on which day & time????

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE FUN!!!!! My problem is that I want to do EVERYTHING!

Me toooooo

Gail, I want to do everything too! LOL.

I am in for the walking tour on Sunday and either a simple hike or drive up and walk around the top of Mt. Greylock. My knee is good but not great. Bringing the dog, so he will definitely want to get out for a walk.

We are getting touring packets ready for everyone. We'll pass them out when you arrive. There will also be a board to post any information and a marker board to write updates and last minute notices for the group.

Extra seat??? Carpooling??

I think this is the most organized Rally that I have ever attended!! What a good idea to have a message board......

I just mentioned to Deborah in an email this morning that I can put the extra seat in my Yukon, so I could take 7 additional people if there is an interest in carpooling to any of these events/places.......It takes up alot of space, so I only put it in if there is a need, so people, let me know.....

Now we should bring floating devices? Lake? We are camping on a lake?

The Carolina Chocolate Drops are appearing at MassMoCA Saturday night at 8:00 pm. Tickets should also be available at the door according to website. Commitment phobic ticket buyers can decide at the last minute.

It's a man made lake and well stocked with fish. There's a boat launch on the campground premises. The campground has 2 rowboats & 2 canoes for rent @ $5.00/hour including life jackets.

Can't wait.............
