We are planning on a road trip on Saturday to the Vanderbilt Mansion NHS and the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt NHS. It's a two hour commute each way but I'll score at least two more National Park Passport stamps.

Yes! And while we are enjoying our adult beverages I'll show the rally attendees my newest passport stamps. Hehe! I'm sure folks will be totally thrilled!

We are newbies and are wondering if you will be having an open house? We live close enough to drive up and would like to view other layouts. We still have some work to do on our 76 Tradewind before we take it out on a trip.

Hi Eric,
Is it road worthy yet? If so..... bring it for the weekend and camp in it. The campground mentioned having 2 more sites available as of last week. Or if you have a tent, there are tent sites available. We'd love to have you join us ALL for the day or the weekend. We are going to have too much fun!

Peter and I are looking forward to meeting NEU people. WDCU thanks Deborah and all the NEU people who are making this rally possible. It's a long trip for us from New Hope, and we are going to try and do a little bit of everything. Looking forward to meeting John and Lisa Bevis from Saratoga, NY for dinner one night too! See you all soon, Star Grover, President WDCU

No formal open house is planned (that I know of) but most of us love to show off the interior of our rigs. So come on up. I recommend you come during happy hour.

It's plastic. I found it at my local Sams Club about two months ago and I'm looking forward to christening it. My sister has one too. Maybe I can get her to bring hers so we'll have enough adult beverages for the entire town.

Travel information
Remember that more information is available on the rally website;
http://nearl.com/neu/ (user name and password are on your rally forms)
MA Road Projects. There's a list of several, including; Bridge project on Rte. 8 in N. Adams, Rte. 7/8 in Lanesboro, projects listed show for 2010. A member familiar with Rte. 2 in the Berkshires, suggested caution traveling Rte. 2 in the Florida area, coming through the mountains for steep and curved roads. Watch your brakes if towing.

Tents
It looks like we may opt out of using the large NEU tent for the rally. We have at least 2 "eze up" type tents that we can put together. This will allow use between our actual campsites for our group.
If you have a tent that we could use, please bring it.
Thank you.

Why not set a time for open house (or maybe a tentative time, like immediately before happy hour on Saturday and/or Sunday) so that friends from afar or near, like these folks, can take a quick tour and then join us for happy hour??????? It would be a great "meet and greet", and fun to welcome some new friends who might be interested in joining NEU or WDCCU.
Okay all....why do we have two separate threads for this rally???? I am STILL confused......

Open House
If you all want to add this, let me talk to the hosts. Perhaps before the Sunday bbq would work.
Also, I just checked the rally website. Take a visit It was last updated on 5/20. Mary and Jon will probably be adding a few more updates as we go.
http://nearl.com/neu
Two threads; one is public to everyone on the Forum and the other is NEU only.

I'm confused too....
Thanks Gail for mentioning the other thread - I didn't even know it was there! Because this is a joint rally with WDCU I think it would be a good idea to keep everything on this public thread and direct people from the private NEU thread to this one.

I just purchased a 12'X12' EZ Up yesterday, we'll bring it to the rally.

I just visited the website this a.m., and saw "grill-your-own" for Sat and "bring sides" for Sunday. I just visited a minute ago and it was corrected!!!!! It feels like I am losing it, but I even copied down the info onto my "to do" pad this morning, and then corrected it using Deborah's email info. Maybe it's because I followed the link to the site from an earlier post, but it did say "updated on 5/20"......WHO KNOWS????????
YES!!!! WHOEVER CAN DO IT, PLEASE COMBINE THE TWO THREADS!!!

The weather is going to be perfect!???
I am so PSYCHED for this rally!! It was mentioned on the other thread that the weather is going to be perfect!!!! (I hope this is true.)
How are we possibly going to do everything that we are interested in doing?! (hiking, kayaking, fishing, concert-attending, walking tour, antiquing, socializing, dancing, eating...............)
This is going to be great! I only wish that all our friends could be there to enjoy it too.
