Oh my...you can get a "real winter" at that altitude. Once you have it fixed, there are lots of threads on "winterizing with the pink stuff" or "blowing out the lines with a compressor"--both would be good solutions for you in the high desert.

We're hoping too but Uwe had to cancel tomorrow. Working on getting him and the trailer together...

take note for NYE!!!!

new Yale study:

"..Scrambling to wrap those last few presents? Drop the fancy wrapping paper, put down the ribbon and stop channeling Martha Stewart — a recent Yale study suggests you might be better off keeping it simple.

Elaborate wrapping heightens gift recipients’ expectations and may not improve the giving and receiving experience, according to research conducted by School of Management professors Nathan Novemsky and Ravi Dhar. Rather than making a less desirable gift more appealing, nice wrapping increases the disappointment of receiving unwanted presents. The researchers also concluded that wrapping desirable gifts plainly can increase recipients’ glee upon opening because their expectations for the gift are not overly heightened...."

Ah, that explains why Flat Richard came in a used pepperoni pizza box! Such anticipation.

And it is also why I use either plane jane brown paper or newspaper with duct tape. That way ANYTHING in the package is better so they are not just happy, but relieved.

Well, maybe excepting a bug clock

Barry, it sounds like you miss the scorpion clock. I would be happy to start saving them for you in a brown paper covered box with duct tape. R

Hi All! I'm Chris, the newest of newbs. I'm from Phoenix and I have a 1974 Argosy 24'. This is just my 2nd post. The 1st post was my member intro just a few minutes ago. I was wondering if there's still time to sign up for this rally? Sorry so late...I just found out my initial NYE plans fell thru. But I think it may be serendipity working for me as this rally would be my first, and from the sounds of it, it would be a thousand times more enjoyable than my previous plans. So, I hope there's still time. To sweeten the deal, I just want to say that just about everything I own is white-elephanty, so someone would be assured a great exchange It would be just myself and my 2 small dogs, and we probably won't be able to join the rally until Saturday morning. Looking forward to meeting fellow Airstreamers for the first time!(fingers crossed)

Question Is it still 2012?

I just figured out that we are currently in the year 2012. Pls ignore any messages I may have posted in NYE 2011. Anyhow, we won't be arriving until the 28th as it's a looong way and the chauffeur's no longer a spring chicken. See ya when we see ya...don't wait up.

Hey Louis -

What ever happened to the male & female electric toothbrushes that were hidden inside Sergio's Trojan Flamingo?

Just thinking...

Wish we could be there!

This rally sounds like such a great time! Wish we weren't so far away. Next year is our goal to retire and make trips like this.
We'll be thinking of you as we bring in the New Year with family in Mn, closer, but colder, and much more sedate...

The anatomically correct male and female toothbrushes that Janis had the pleasure to receive a few years ago met an untimely end. They will not be in attendance. We didn't know there was an electric version too???!!!

Speaking of meeting "untimely ends" I'm thinking the bug/scorpion clock would make quite the bonfire starter

IMHO there is only one thing better than a dead scorpion and that would be a dead scorpion roasting in a fire

I knew someone would remember these anatomically correct items - my mistake, I thought they were battery powered...

It's pretty nice here. It's a bit chilly the next couple of nights (relatively speaking) but it's supposed to be grand over the weekend and NY's! Stop that snow talk and come on down!
