Any requests from the E44 site holders? New patio installed, should I pile wood.
Looking forward to seeing some more silver stuff soon!
Oh, by the way, super windy today, and currently 58 degrees according to my super duper window thermometer.

Wow...talk about an early bird!
If we have any nice weather between now and then, we will swing by on our motorcycle after work some evening and say hi! We only live 6 or 7 miles away. So, if you see a motorcycle pull up to your site, it will most likely be us!

So, What about a Potluck instead of a Potato Bar?
Hi Everyone,
Gail and I got to talk'n today and thought we'd pass this by the group: Would folks rather have a Potluck on Saturday night instead of a Potato Bar? Reason we ask is this rally is much bigger than we thought it would be back when we were in the planning stages. I'm thinking we'd need to bake 100 or so potatos (in folks Airstream ovens) and this would be during our Airstream Open House.....
Let us know!

Potluck sounds like a better idea logistically speaking. My vote is for potluck!

You could prebake the potatoes in foil. Restruants do it all the time. Don't need to refrigerate. Then heat them up in the coals.
Potluck is always good to, or both.

Potluck ... of course, this is our first rally so what do we know. We were thinking boiled hot dogs, but 53FC has a better idea.

Remember: Long water hoses and extension cords
Thought I'd let our newbies know (and remind folks who attended last year's NEU rally at Salisbury Beach) that the hookups for water are behind the campsites, kind of in a service area. You will need long water hoses to plug in. Last year Leon and I only had a 25' white hose which did not reach the hookups. Lucky for us Balgrn let us hook to his trailer using a Y connector (rally style water hookup). We didn't have electric last year so I'm not 100% sure where those connections are.
Here's a picture of Firedog's Bambi that I clipped from Gadgets Blog which shows the setup at Salisbury.

I'm really looking forward to singing along! As Elaine L. said earlier on the forums: wine + music = singer.
Oh, if I have enough wine I think I'm a pretty good dancer too.....

Cracker,
I've heard rumors that, the count was "at least" 35 units~
Possibly one a day is being registered...Based on that simple equation~
I'd say, We're gonna have one good size crowd in attendance~!!
Hiker,
it's funny you mention hot dogs..All last weekend while my son and, a fellow teacher/friend of his were home...They seemed to have cooked up a mess of natural skin dogs for lunch`! I think maybe for late night snack as well...lol
I wonder how many Alaskan King Crabs it would take to feed this bunch??
Has any one seen that new show on just how dangerous of a job it is to go after these crustation. (Joan, help me out here with the spelling...lol)
I almost thought the rally was this weekend...
ciao

I'm working on the rally spreadsheet (I've been telling that to Gail for the last week now). Would have had it done last night but I had some wine and that stops all productivity.

Thank you for posting this!! I actually have so many questions that this was not even on my radar screen. So, we should get another hose? The one that came with our Bambi won't be long enough? Help!
And I also am not sure about : fresh water tank - should we fill it at home, at the site, or not at all?
refrigerator: should we turn it on and get it cold while we pack the AS and truck, or wait until we get hooked up at the beach?
pot luck: what kind of dishes do people usual make or enjoy? which course is most needed?
Any help with these items (or anything you anticipate us needing to know) would be incredibly appreciated.

Hi TinLizzie,
No need to fill your fresh water tank as Salisbury has electric and water hookups at all of our sites. Suggested equipment list for this rally:
Water:
- Two or more "white" drinking water hose, 5/8" x 25 feet
- One or more free flowing "Y" connectors (in case you need to hook your water hose to another trailer like Leon and I did last year)
- One water pressure regulator (place on city-water faucet)
Electrical:
- One or more 50 foot 3-wire cords, 10 or 12 gauge with U-bar grounding plug and receptacle
- 30 Amps to 20 Amps adapter
- 20 Amps to 30 Amps adapter
- 50 Amps to 30 Amps adapter
You folks should have gotten the latest NEU Membership directory by now. There is a full list of suggested items on page 54. In addition to this I keep a checklist that helps me validate I have everything needed for our camping adventures. I'll give you a copy at the rally, you will begin to think you'll need a bigger camper just to carry all the "needed" stuff.
Refrigerator - get it cold and fill it up at home. Mine takes nearly a full day to get down to the right temperature so I plug it in to our 30amp service two days before any trip. There are different opinions on whether you should run it on propane while you are traveling (we do) but even if you don't your food will stay cold as the campground is only 1 1/2 to 2 hours from your home.
For potluck many folks make dishes that are enjoyed by their own families. The general suggestion is folks make 4 times the amount you would normally make for your family. We get a fantastic selection of different foods during our potluck dinners. We (I should say Leon) always makes apple pies for potlucks and I always get to clean the Airstream's galley after he is done.
Once you arrive you will find that all of us "veteran" WBCCI members will be giving you advice on setting up, working the camper's systems, breaking down, etc. (even if you do not want it) hee hee!
