Lewisburg 2016 International Rally

Lewisburg, WV will host the 2016 International Rally. Many of us are looking forward to a great time in Almost Heaven. There will be Caravans to the Rally and lots of opportunities to see the sites. Consider signing up as over 500 rigs have already done so. It will be a great time, but it would be better if you were there.

Go to WBCCI.org to do so.

500 full hook ups? They must be putting in electric and sewer for the rally. I have been to the fairgrounds many times and much of the camping is primitive. The fairground website shows they only have 200 full hook ups.

The first 500 are promised FULL hookups, I got mine reserved, and they are now passing the 500 mark and making plans to accommodate hundreds more, but not necessarily with full hookups. The elevation will make the daytime temps much more temperate than down in the flatland. What's not to like for those EDT and CDT folks who have waited to do International because of the long drive out West, and the high daytime temps etc.?

As of mid-October they had about 375 sites with full hookups, and were well on their way to getting in the promised 500. They even said that their goal is to eventually get 700 full hookups installed, but they're not promising more than 500 by the time of the International Rally.

We have been to many rallies with pumped sewer. The sanitation committee handles it well and often. Don't let absence of that 3rd point hookup prevent attendance!

The park installed new full hookup sites for a Newmar Rally, our rally and business to come. It will be a great time.

Ahhh, sweet procrastination has failed me again

Well, I really didn't expect the sites to fill up so soon, based on previous years attendance numbers. I was planning on waiting until the first of the year to join in order to save on membership dues. Looks like we will either be dry camping or heading to Douthat State Park. Any thoughts or suggestions? Is it worth dry camping for an entire week, or should I just stop by and visit from a local campground?
Please... no lectures, my wife is taking care of that.

I recommend registering for dry camping. In an average year, more than 10 % of those registered need to cancel. Those sites are them available for folks already registered. I am told it will be based on registration date. You can be certain that some folks will keep their inexpensive dry camping spot.

Take a shot at it.

Got my tour reservations picked out for the International. Looks like I am going to be spending a lot of time on trains and underground. Plus a day on the river rafting.

AWChief: Where do you go to pick out and sign up for the available tours? I checked the
WBCCI International webpage and it's not there.

Looking for a miracle

I know it's early but the May 15 deadline to sign up has me concerned. We are looking to purchase a 30amp hook-up at Lewisburg off of someone who's plans have changed.

Please reach out with a private message.

Lewisburg is shaping up to be quite a sensational rally. My parking assignment is a week before I thought the event started, but being retired it only took a few minutes to decide we could do that. More time, more fun, more things to do, more opportunity to meet new friends and find old ones in the crowd. See you there.

Given how many people are registered, it only makes sense to spread out their arrivals to keep from overwhelming the people on the parking committee. But I don't know exactly how they decided who is supposed to arrive when.
