Going to the WBCCI International???
I am wondering who on this forum is planning to go to the WBCCI International Rally in Lansing, Michigan, June 26th thru July 4th.
I am not signing up to arrange any meeting , but it might be interesting to know who will be there and have the chance to meet some of the folks we've have been conversing with on the Forum.
I'll go first and say that the International will be our first trip with our '66 Overlander and my first time camping in a trailer (I mean Airstream), although Lorrie has camped in an Aistream (and even our Airstream) before, when our trailer was originally owned by her parents.
Oh yeah, to try to keep this thread "on topic", I would like to ask non-WBCCI members to not inform us why choose not to belong to the WBCCI or won't be attending. That subject has been covered many times before on this Forum. Thanks for your consideration.

Shari,
No to the first one (in fact that link doesn't work). Yes to the second, but it kind of strayed to other thoughts (pets, boarder crossings, etc.).
I'd just like to print of a single thread with all of the folks I might be able to meet as I walk around looking at trailers (especially the Vintage ones) & WBCCI numbers.

I will be among those attending with my '78 Minuet 6.0 Metre and '75 Cadillac Convertible towcar (provided it doesn't throw a temper tantrum at the last minute). Unless something happens to delay my arrival, my plan is to parade in with the VAC. I have only missed one International Rally since I attended my first in 1998 (Boise, ID) - - I didn't make it to Vermont as the Cadillac threw a tantrum just hours before my scheduled departure - - this year, the Suburban will be on-site as an emergency backup for any pre-departure tantrums from the Cadillac.
I am confident that you will enjoy the International. We always seem to have a great time in the Vintage section even when the weather is a heat wave - - and for some reason such weather seems to follow the International, and I won't mention what other type of weather has accompanied at least two of my more memorable International Rallys.
I should have my numbers on the Minuet by then, but if the Cadillac is my towcar it will probably be more readily recognized than the trailer. Since this is only the third year that Minuets are eligible for VAC status, I don't have any idea of how many of us there will be - - in the past there have been very few Argosys in attendance and this will be my first International with the Minuet - - it will seem strange to be at an International without my Overlander.
I too will be looking forward to meeting other Forums members while at the International Rally!

No problem...just want to be sure you saw that there were similar active threads.
Have fun...wish we could go, we'll be there next time for sure!

Shari,
Thanks for fixing the link. Somehow I never saw that first thread, however, it started and ended (so far) on the same day, so I was pretty easy to miss. Plus I didn't even know there was a "WBCCI Rallies" Forum. I looked thru the "WBCCI Forum", found nothing and posted mine there. I am continually amazed that there are nooks and crannies in the Forum that I haven't yet discovered.

Great idea to meet at the international rally.
I will be setup near the airstream store. My number is 1611.
I will look for 16135 & 6359 in the vintage trailer area. Hopefully that will narrow down the search.
My wife will be working in the store. If you are over there, ask for Howard or Heather.

One small correction . . .
You will find our trailer (#16135) in the "general population" rather than the VAC area because we will be caravanning with Lorrie's parents and their '86 isn't yet VAC eligible. We plan to get there Saturday morning, and while I don't know what to expect, I hope we can be set up in time to watch the Vintage units parade in sometime around or after 2pm Saturday.

I'll be there, working under the Airstream tent at the booth. Dinoburb and Wheel Interested will be roaming the grounds taking photos for the magazine. I also know quite a few other folks from the Forums who are coming, but I'll let them introduce themselves.

We are doing our final packing. The Motorhome has been pre-flighted, and once I get a tire on the toad replaced we are ready to roll!
BTW, does anyone want another forum button???

Me Too!! Don't have one (fill in the blank) and need one (or two or . . .) Buttons, that is! (Or should that be: Buttons, that are!)
English, I love it!
Take care,

OK,
We will have a button, and a sign up sheet at the Lansing center. I will see if there is a shared space for the sign up sheet. It will be the 4 color one
The button design is not yet complete, so you will have to go to the rally see/get it.
Jack set the bar pretty high at the last forum rally so I have to say this. There will not be signs, key chains, t-shirts or whirly gigs There will be fun and tremendous fellowship. The sign up will have a happy hour announcement once we know where we are going to be parked.
