I would love to attend also. Will do my darndest to make it. It's a very busy time of year for me.
Is there good cell service at that location? Does anybody know? I have Verizon. Keeping in touch with the office might make it easier to get away.

Hi uwe,
I just checked the Verizon coverage map for zip code 86326
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/C...type=newsearch
Looks like we have solid digital coverage.
I have added an external cell antenna on both my TV and my Airstream so I can improve my chances of getting Internet access while camping.

I'm considering it also. It would be fun for the Californians to meet in Barstow and travel on together...a mini caravan.
As far as the registration goes...are we supposed to "join" something or just pay for the camping?

Hi BamCamper,
If you would like to come, just pay for the camping. See info in Richard's original post copied at the bottom.
You can wait to meet us to decide whether or not you want to affiliate with the proposed Four Corners Unit.

The Four Corners Unit is holding its first rally on February 16th – 18th, 2007 at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood, Arizona. The rally will be held at the group site which will be dry camping. The area has clean bathrooms with showers. Water and a dump station are available in the park. We will have a pot luck dinner on Saturday night and a campfire every night.. Bring your fishing poles, hiking boots, mountain bike or just your favorite chair. Children and pets are welcome. Visit the Four Corners Unit website for more information and the registration form. Please update the Rally Calendar if you will be attending. This rally is open to all forum members.

Goin camping knows the Cal spirit well, if there is a party and were not in jail, we are there! So if a bunch of Californians show up, is it a Four Corners + Edge Rally? (Jus kiddin).

It's more than 100 miles so Doorgunner should be interested.

There is a critical reason for this. As Californians (Yes, we know how you say it.) We can't drink regular coffee. Its against state law. So we need Doorgunner cause he makes killer* Double latte with Expresso shots and 1/2 cream** and 1/2 Soy milks in a bio degradeable cup.
* Doorgunner only uses water from icebergs from the far North Sea. Bottled in glass under a vacuum.
**It is volunteer cream. No cow was abused to harvest the cream. A guy just sits next to the cow and waits for the cow to choose to provide the cream. You can taste the difference.

It's ok. Just because it is a firearm does not make it illegal. Just don't fire it inside the city limits or conceal it. DG could in fact wear it on the hip and be legal. Things are different on this side of the Colorado River .

uwe---wife and I were camp ground host at Arches NP which is close by DHP. We could get a cell phone service there at a high point--don't think you'd have a problem---pieman

When I camped at the same site earlier this year (Tin Can Toutist Rally) I remember someone ordered a pizza for dinner over his cell phone. The pizza arrived 45 minutes later....

What about the rest of the people that said they were interested in the FCU but are not planning to attend our first rally?
I would be interested in why not so we can adjust future rally offerings
Other?[/quote]
25---I think the concept of this unit is great--also this is a great selection for a rally. I won't be attending mainly because my WBCCI membership will have expired. Not to whip an old horse but as I told Ken I won't renew until or unless the International officially approves this unit. Wife and I just attended a WBCCI Regional Rally in the east. It's easy to understand after being there why the membership continues to decline. If they refuse to allow change I refuse to be a member. ----pieman

Mike,
Because we are not a WBCCI Unit at this time, the rally is open for everyone. It is listed as a forums rally. If we get our charter this becomes a buddy rally! Who could want better buddies then the members of this forum. Please do not let WBCCI membership stop you from attending.
I am the host and in no way will this look and taste like a WBCCI rally. It's a kick back, do your thing and just have fun rally.
