Rally???

Hello all -

Spent 5 HOURS shovelling about 28inches of HEAVY snow. SilverToy is under a serious blanket.... as such the trip to Cottonwood is also in question for me and mine. They are calling for 43degrees tomorrow - but then they only called for 3 inches of snow last night!

They can't forcast their way out of a wet paper bag around here - sigh.

Shoulders and back are ACHING!!!

Hope to see everyone Friday, if not - hoist one or three for me, please.

Axel

Snow in New Mexico

Wild whatevers could not keep Mr.R and I (Ms. R) away! We were getting snow late today, but wet snow. Supposed to be sunny tomarrow. We will be going through "Budque" tomorrow afternoon. Pick up some lexan martini glasses at REI and away we go, come hell or high snow! Did I ever mention that I am very stubborn and never give up must have slipped (no pun intended) my mind-Hope to see the New Mexicos there-Tamara

In case you are wondering where our 7 foot cowboys is this morning, he hitched up in Williams, AZ last night to visit a western watering hole that fits his style. Williams is located on I-40 and is just west of Flagstaff. Here is the current conditions for Williams this morning. This is not Cottonwood!

hi richard et al:

yes it's true. i spent the night in willaims.

presently at 7:42am i'm at the rv ranch, it's 7 degress. not to forget, williams is at 6,500 hundred feet... it's all downhill from here...

i even have ice on the upper top port holes... Yikes!

however the dream stream furnace is pumping out the BTU's.

the interstate is clear, and i'm fixing to leave shortly.

y'all drive safe.

We plan to be onsite around noon. We (Jan) are loading up and getting a few last minute items.

Kev ~ Are you going through Sedona on the way?

richard,

i also plan on arriving noonish.

i stopped and caused a stir last year with the touristas.... so this year i'm just gonna wave from the hwy as i go buy, unless you need something artsy.

mr. silver, my plan is to take the I40 east, exit 17, exit 195 towards sedona, exit 287 toward cottonwood, turn right on AZ-260 towards camp verde, arive cottonwod, follow sign to cowboy bar. i'm in the airstream. k.

Am I nuts getting off at Ash Fork, then south to Prescott, then east through Jerome? Is the Costco magnetic field in Prescott warping my better route-selecting judgment? Is there a reason I'd rather pile on more Interstate Highway miles than back roads? Will I miss something if I don't get there at 70mph and beat Kevbo to his selected parking spot? argh.

ZEP ~ I strongly suggest I-40 to I 17 to SR-260. It is much faster and you will avoid the winding hills and narrow roads in Jerome. Jerome is a great place to visit without the trailer. It's just down the road from Cottonwood and is an old ghost town that has become an artsy type community.

This is my last post before the rally. Jan and I are very excited to meet everyone. Please remember to take note of your starting miles so that you can tell me your total miles going to the rally. Longest distance wins a nice prize!

Very Important:
Take your time and get to the rally safely!

NOT looking good!

Hello all -

Just went out to finish shovelling, with an eye toward getting SilverToy out of the drive. Widened the apron and the like....

Went to turn Kelly (TV) around to contemplate the angles and such.... Kelly got stuck about 3 feet out into the street. Still have about 9 or 10 inch ruts and VERY slick surface on the road out front. About 600 feet away, is pavement that IS clear.

Ah, the wonders of country living!!!

Hopefully they get a plow up here, but still.... towing 9000lbs out of here might be folly. I'll mull on it, but it is NOT looking good.

Hoist one for me guys!!

Question about getting to the rally. We plan to leave here Friday morning. Any suggestions on the best route north? Should we take the two-lane 303 bypass or brave the traffic on 17. We're right at the Cotton Lane exit on I-10. When we get up north, what is the best exit to Dead Horse? There seem to be two possibilities, but perhaps one is better than the other.

Thanks in advance for advice.
Hi all!..Have a great time up there in Dead Horse... since I can't make it, please would you send a little article and or pix of your fun times for the upcoming issue of the Airstreamforums.com newsletter?..thnx..cody
