mr. dog and ms. dog,

while i can only speak as the unofficial, but highly paid rally greeter, this group is overly-allinclusive. please stop by. look for the seven foot well dressed cowboy. i'll fix you up.

mr. toy,

i'm willing to take part in the group photo. i respect your sincereity. please however be sensitive to my status. autographs detract from my "fun", at rallies. pixels cool, no ink, please don't ask.

Just like Kevin said, I think. Please stop by, we will have alot of different Airsteams to see. Many vintage and many newer units too. The only thing I ask is that you seek me out and say hi!

Am I out of touch? I thought "slinging ink" meant you wrote a column for a newspaper...

mr. and ms. caster,

that "RED" thing on the counter is an Italian designed "Piezo Lighter"; the sole purpose of which is to entice conversation, such as "what is that red thing on the counter". it's perfect for a personality you CAN'T shut up.

in regards to the "how did you do it question?", even i have limits. i never kiss and tell, ever (or how).

Not losing interest at all....just taking too long to read through all these posts. It took me 3 nights (slow reader?) to get down to here
We will be there but have to work, unlike some of us it appears!!!
My wife and I teach at a high school in Hemet and won't get away until around 4pm Friday evening. I WILL drive until I get tired, probably stopping off the freeway (I10) somewhere around Blythe or Quartzite, then up at the crack of dawn (yawn) and head toward Wickenburg, drop down to the highway going past L. Pleasant, then up the freeway toward Flagstaff and off at the exit to Cottonwood. Should arrive around noonish to 2ish....
We stay Saturday and Sunday nights then off into the sunset again.
Really looking forward to this "gathering" of _____ souls (fill in the blank).
kevbo: I have students in my chemistry classes that would be hard-pressed to keep up with your, shall we say, "banter"?
Keep up the fine work. My work is NOT done here (grading/planning yet tonight)

I am very familiar with that route through Wickenberg and I perfer not to take it. A more direct route would be I-10 to the 101 to go around Phoenix and then pick up I-17 North to the Verde Valley (Cottonwood).
Just a suggestion.....

Alternate route

Thanks, Richard.
I just knew someone from AZ woul pipe in and give me some help on this as I have not traveled this way. A friend of mine here in Hemet suggested that route but I would prefer to get to Cottonwood via the shortest (read safest) and simplest path. I imagine the twisty, windy road up from Congress past Prescott via the 89 would take alot of time.....too much time to get to camp on time (happy hour ).
Thanks for your input. We'll go via Phoenix, thank you.

What are you gonna get tattoo'd and where?

Theoretically you could get an Airstream put on and if you pick the right spot it could go from a 16 foot Bambi to an 34 foot Classic. Depending on your mood.

I'll probably get in trouble for this one so let me apologize now.

You can always stop in Quarzsite to rest. Plenty of parking at the Luv's truck stop. There are two rest areas past that. One about 30 miles east of Quarzsite and another 30 miles east of that. When you take the 101, check out the big stadium in Glendale. There is also a Cabela's at that exit. Be safe, C U at Dead Horse.

Since you will be at some cowboy dive in Williams the night before, your route is I-40 to I-17 South to the Verde Valley. I know a few others, but pulling a trailer I would stick to the Interstate. Remember, just because we have a 75 mile per hour speed limit for everyone, you do not have to drive 75. You will be passed by many people doing alot more.

Gary&Susan-
Having recently come through Phoo-enix at about 4:00 pm, I can tell you that the "rush hour" was already well underway...a circuitous route would be well-considered...We will be headed up there from Tucson, and I will be going around Phoo-enix THIS time...a winding road sounds much better that a barely mobile parking lot...
Goin Camping-
It's not the tattoo on the antenna, it's where you mount it...
Kevbo-
I gotta know, are you as fast in person as you are online?
AZ flycasters-
We'll be up there a day or two early, so can we do anything for early...?

well, normally as the overly officious highly paid rally greeter, that's a question reserved for me.
