I am still considering going to the rally but won't know if I can work it out until close to the dates of the rally. (Family scheduling conflict yet to be resolved) Would it be possible to show up at the last minute?
Is there electric available at the group campsite?
Thanks.

hi, about a two min. walk. or ride your bike, but not after hitting the "margi" ball. i'd lend you a horse, but think lush (the horse, not you), not a pretty sight. kevbo

i can't directly speak about whether there are any spaces left, however last year, we just doubled up at each space and had a ball. people from arizona ARE fun and very relaxed and seem to practice radical inclusiveness (sp?) think of it this way, if they let me attend, they will allow anyone to attend.
no power in the group area, however if you attend, you are allowed to use a generator (group area only, and only certain hours), and i could bring my 2 Honda 2000ui generators (that you could use to top off your batteries). see even cowboys from california can be friendly.
speaking of Honda Gen Set's i think i heard someone say there may be a seminar on those exact units @ 29 palms.

Kevbo is correct. The site has around 25 spaces, but there is a ton of room between the spots. There is also an area behind the spots where we can put several more. The event I was at last year that kevbo and flyfshr attended had over 50 units of all shapes and sized. It was not crowded.
Electric may be an issue for some. If the nights are cold, batteries will get drained. If everyone who has a generator could please bring it, we could top off any low batteries each day. I will bring my EU1000.

We are going to bring a bunch of firewood as well.
If anyone else could that would be great.
Here is a picture from the event last year with a group called Arizona Roundup.
I think the trailer on the right is Brad's (flyfshr) and the one on the left is Kevbo10's

That right one is our trailer. We'll be bringing firewood, kindling, our EU1000, Bacardi, Corona and a few cigars.

Ok, got the time off!
We camped here two years ago in a much smaller trailer, very nice.
We hope to make this our first A/S Rally, great unit rules. So we'll throw the two Mtn. Bikes on the roof and mozy that way. Looking forward to sharing a fire.
Besides the blender, what do we bring?

It's the weekend of the IBT meeting and I've got my fingers crossed. Hopefully we will find out by Tuesday the decision from the IBT on our 4 Corners Unit charter. I personally want to thank all who have voiced their support for our efforts and am hopeful this will become an innovative unit within WBCCI.

Um.... probably a dumb question... If the FCU becomes an official unit in WBCCI, do you have to allow only WBCCI members at rallys. We'll be on our first one this spring and don't know if we'll "fit in". We're not usually group joiners.
thx

Think of FCU as "inclusive" in spirit and not "exclusive".

Hi Mike,
As one of the initial organizers of the FCU movement, I suggest you stop by and check us out.
If you don't care for us then don't come back. If you do like us, you are welcome to join us.
I don't see any problem either way.

Didn't mean to offend. The group of folks attending the rally seems a lot like us. I was just wondering if WBCCI approved status put restrictions on who can play with you all.

Theoretically yes. Insurance reasons as one excuse. Others are extremely important but don't seem to be acceptable to many on these forums.
Practically, it depends upon how and where the rally is conducted.

Brad,
I'm fine. We're looking forward to Cottonwood... just 90 min up the road. We've been planning a trip to Dead Horse Ranch. Donna and I have trailered a lot with horse trailers while in the Quarter Horse game - she was a trainer. We've been taking little trips around the state to get all of the essentials in order for trailer camping. The forum has been the best resource for "how to's".
Thanks for letting us tag along with you...
Mike

restrictions on who can play
Mike,
Sorry, perhaps I didn't express myself very well. What I meant was, you are in charge of what you would like to do. You are more than welcome to come. One of the underlying motiations for forming a new unit was wanting to get away from too many rules/restrictions, too much formality, etc. Sorry if my last post sounded unfriendly, it was not intended.
