Spent today driving the backroads(1 lane, 4WD) soaking in the outrageous aspen colors...took a few(hundred) pictures, but won't download them till ABQ
just trying to find constructive ways to eat up the time till we leave---Wednesday, after kegette delivery.
so, now there's ceremonial dancing to add to the already ballooning social calendar...I'll have to pull out the old blue-pencil if it gets any busier...

...HMMM...can't seem to download(upload) pics right now, but aching blue skies, fluorescent red/pink/yellow aspen leaves, no drugs involved...honest.

John:
It was a Pilot station and yes, they do have diesel. So did the Exit 59 station. Something interesting occurred, last evening, in Needles, a mid-sixties AS pulled into the campground. Three young men from abroad are making their way across the country in it. I wanted to get a picture of them with the trailer but didn't see them around this morning. I took a couple of pictures of the truck and trailer (see below). About an hour ago, in Williams, we started to take the dogs out for a walk, and there was the same trailer. They promised that they are not following us. I'll try for another group shot of them tomorrow. Ron

We pulled into Santa Fe about noon today after spending a few days in Taos in route. Will do the sights here before leaving on Friday morning. Met up with some Airstream folks from CO that are meeting their group (wally Byam) here for a few days before going to the state fairgounds where their group will be based in Albuquerque.
Looking forward to meeting up with you all at CW Friday morning.

We've had a breakdown. But I think it is going to be just fine. We stopped at Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado, AZ and then the dura wouldn't start. Period.

Called Good Sam, they dispatched a wrecker from Gallup NM (60 mi) and they came and hitched us up, truck, rig and everything.

Wrecker agreed to take the camper to KOA in Gallup, then took me and the truck to the chevy dealer. Dropped the truck, then brought me back to KOA. I'm watching football as I type this.

Don't know how the story will end, but will say that the Good Sam RV service is worth every penny I pay for it each year.

Got me here in time for cocktail hour, by the way.

Kevbo,
I didn't spot any Euros. In fact, I didn't see them at Exit 59, but you couldn't tell that by your quote of my quote. ? Getting confused. Time for some more wine.

I think I'll pour another. takillya gooees down toooo smooothly to be a real drink.

Good news, possibly.

Dealer says the fuel-water sensor had become disconnected, preventing the engine from starting. Will need new fuel filter, possibly a new sensor. Whew. Getting the truck serviced while it's in the shop.

And gotta say again - the Good Sam emergency road service is on my permanent renew list.

See you in a few days.

Mr & Mrs McLemore,
Congrats on a relatively simple incident...we, too, have the Good Sam card...2 weeks after purchase of the card AND the motorhome, on a Sunday Morning in northeast Texas...service arrival and completion in 1 1/2 hours...we renew without hesitation, and wonder why we held on to AAA for so long('cept they DO have great maps and books)...mike

Geezz Goin,

Talk about taking the fun out of a caravan and a rally. I will do one of those three, but can't do the first cause we are caravaning with Kevbo and Bam, and the last, also can't do, what happens at a rally stays at a rally, especially when str8strm is involved...pictures could mean jail time or at least community service.

just saying.....

Goin,
That's better, I can do that!

kevbo,

Look for us on I-15 on our way to Barstow tomorrow, we will most likely be hooking up with babeebloos in Tustin at 10AM, and if all goes well, we should be in Calico by 1:00PM or earlier. And yes, I have bail money but it is limited, so no felonies, please.
