Richard ~
We just need to tie a balloon to his bum and we'd be all set for lift off.
Let's get the party started.

Richard Tamara wants to know if you still need some Hatch chile. She says it's available at our Walmart and could get some for you.

If they look good, get me some. I'll pay you back at the rally.
Not too hot!!!
We used to get a big sack every year, but that would be too much, how does a half of a sack sound?

How would we get into the area
We most likely will be in VIP West or perhaps VIP East 1 or 2.
In any event, enter from Alameda onto Balloon Museum Drive and look for a bunch of Airstreams. Our parking will be outside of the admission gate to the launch field.

Off to Four Corners next month.
Sorry we're gonna miss you guys at the baloon fest.
We're off to New Mexico and Four Corners on the 13th of October thru the 27th. Silver City, Bosque del Apache, Santa Fe, Chama, Cortez and most of the Navajo Nation in Arizona!
We'll pack the kayak this time and visit a bit more as we continue our Southwest discovery.
You guys Stream Safe-

Everyone will be walking around looking straight up and thereby bashing into each other.
It's a great way to make new friends.

Wow you sleep over night and you guys are up all night posting - I'm impressed - - - - - I beginning to understand that kevbo and irony are talking in code - only they know what they are saying to each other.....
Anyone who wants to come to visit us can as Jerry mentioned without having to go through any gates - look at Jerry's map and for a bunch of Airstreams you will be there.
The hotter the chilli the better - you guys who can't take it are a bunch of gringos....

Ken - Is there any chance we could park in a circle?
I understand that space is limited,
How cool would that be?

The basic rules for New York (I grew up there)
- Don't display your good jewelry on the subway.
- Don't make eye contact with people.
- Carry your purse in front of you with the the clasp side against your body.
- Don't carry your wallet in your back pocket or in a way that causes it to bulge.
- Don't let strangers carry packages for you and never leave your bags unattended if even for a moment.
- If you see trouble coming, avoid it.

The brighter side
A little vigilance is of course prudent. Don't bring a purse. Most women carry their things in a fanny pack worn in front. Everyone could benefit from a day pack as a convenient place to stuff your extra clothes as the sun rises and the day warms up.
However, to be fair, I have attended Balloon Fiesta for about 20 years and the biggest problem I have encountered other than the traffic was to find a place to sit and eat my breakfast burrito. Oh, I should mention that the heavily used porto-lets are less than pleasant.

Gosh I've never even given it a second thought at the balloon rally - just a bunch of folks enjoying balloons.
Jerry mentions the burito - yes we have not talked much about that - but they are incredible - a balloon fista classic - plan on getting one or two - its a full meal.

my obersvatations: Southwest people are so POLITE, that as i lay palms up (partially) passed out gazing at all the colors, sights, sounds, folks will just carefully walk around me, so as not to block my view... and come to think of it, if you're palms up, you can't have anything picked (ever tried to get a can of chew out of a smile pocket? or for that matter anything at all outa a pair of wranglers that have been spray painted on?)
WOW LOOK AT ALL THE COLORS and PRETTY BALLOOOOONS!!!
just sayin...

Partially passed out cont.
Kev,
The people are polite out west. What you have to worry about are their dogs. In a big flat field a guy laid out is something a pup will want to "mark."
I'm just sayin.

Hey I thought I would mention that anyone coming in early may be able to stay at the fiesta site - I think they charge 1/2 price and I don't know how it will work when we all arrive - so if that is a interest to anyone, please let me know and I'll call the balloon folks.

Actually I was thinking of the way a dog on three legs marks his territory.
