generally speaking from california, arizona and nevada experiences, the Str8s are right on... our only planned group activity is happy hour(s) and a pot luck on saturday nights. anything else is arranged on the fly (in the southwest i enjoy indian tomb looting and driving around drunk shooting the windows outa old buidings for sport).
but what do i know...

I can attest to this gas powered, highly efficient drink making machine. You'll know when its happy hour by the sounds eminating from the rally area.

Richard, was the reference to the Hot Air Express towards one of our members in the California caravan (who could it be) or to the event we are atending?

We will be meeting up with the "Hot Air Express" at Little America in Flagstaff. It is located just off I-40 on Butler Ave. It is a major truck stop and had parking for many rigs. What time on Thursday morning will the group be there?
Is anyone else going from Phoenix on Thursday? We could meet for the trip north or you could park at my house (street) if you need to.
Do we have a location / time for everyone to meet near the fiesta yet?
What is the status of the meals? Pot Lucks what nights etc....

Tomorrow we load up and pull out early Tuesday morning. Final destination is the balloon fiesta. Spending some time in Summit County CO before heading to NM.
I'll keep watching this site for updates as I haven't seen a meeting time for Friday morning in Albuquerque (Camping World was a possibility) to hook up with the group. We're spending a few days in Santa Fe before we come in on Friday. Do we have a time and place to meet in Albuquerque or should we go directly to the Fiesta camping site?? Any idea of ETA?

It'a about 2 hours from my house, I was thinking around 9am. We could get there early, have breakfast and call you on the cell to get you going. Williams is only about 40 minutes from Flagstaff.
Maybe we could all have breakfast at Little America?

I think it would be a good idea to exchange cell phone numbers before the trip begins. If you want to be on the list, PM me with your cell number. I will build a list and PM you back in a week or so......

I need to finalize our meeting place here in Albuquerque - I've been waiting to get a bit closer for the fiesta organizers to dial in the best time for us to arrive - I'll try to get some info this week.
I can be reached anytime at 505-281-9303 (forwards to wherever I am)

Approach to Balloon Fiesta Park
Hi Richard,
I live on the west side of ABQ on Coors Blvd. Call me when you are close and I will join up with you so we can all enter together.
If you need to re-assemble your group, a possible staging area on the west side might be Route 66 Casino at exit #140 on Interstate 40. It has easy access to the Interstate and a large parking area. It also has an RV dump in case some one forgot to do that earlier. It is located about 10 miles west of ABQ.
Google Maps
We have VIP RV parking but I don't know whether we will be in VIP West, VIP East 1 or East 2.
VIP RV Map
Traffic Flow Map
This map suggests we approach Balloon Fiesta from the west going east on Alameda and turning north on Balloon Museum Drive.
This could be accomplished by exiting I-40 at Coors Blvd., going north to Alameda and turning east.

That margie machine...is that the Donnarita dispenser, or the weedeater special...?
should we start a fund or just collect as we go? I could start grinding salt...
