Good thing you are now so far south. We are getting ugly weather. Darn, wish we were on the way as well.

We have some mesquite that Richard gave us last year...well, mebbie it was early this year...anywho, it's there for the true Texas BBQ, if ya want...
Barry and Donna, just get yer butts down here...we want to meet you...pack it up, drain the water lines, put the antifreeze in the traps, pull the plugs on the appliances, turn off the propane at the tank, put the land-line on vacation, pack any canned goods and liquids(or give 'em to the neighbors), and worry about the other stuff when you get back...we're waitin'...where are you???m&t

Well, Mike, we expect to be out of here one month from today. One test, then the doctor visit and a much needed/hoped for letter saying I'm insurable by the health care insurer, and we are on the road. Trailer will be packed in anticipation of the 19th doc visit.
We are very excited and it is even more frustrating knowing King O D Road are down there doing all the things we want to be doing. Oh well, we will get even, maybe.....

Don't worry. We're saving you places all over Ca. and Az. Just make your break when you can.

Thanks Goin and much appreciated. Funny, a month to go, and the trailer is 2/3 packed already . We put something in, then rethink whether we will actually need stuff like a snow shovel or not and take it out, but leave it nearby just in case we decide to throw it in anyway. We have heard you folks are getting a lot of everything so far and would not want to head that way unprepared for anything that comes at us. Have the truck serviced and just need to put new tires on it. I tend to focus on the wagon and forget that the truck is the one doing towing duty this trip.
For a person who spent 50 to 60 hours a week in airports and different cities from one day to the next, 40 weeks of the year, for most of my working life, then basically grounded for six, this is going to be like a breath of fresh air coming through the trailer on a hot muggy day. Of course I'm driving Donna nuts, but what can I say - I'm excited. And I admit, it is fun driving her nuts . She never knows what I'm going to do next. Keeps the marriage exciting, her throwing arm in good condition, and my reflex's highly tuned.

As I tell Karen. "Don't complain to me. You knew the job was dangerous when you took it." She then reminds me with a hand gesture that I'm her number one.

My gosh, you are #1 in your family as well? Donna shows me all the time .
Why, just today, when I suggested that we could practice putting food in the trailer refer, she was very enthusiastic with her response .

My wife reminds me of this all the time too although the number one sign is usually accompanied by the word SAGUARO, our state flower. She's so smart.

Often I'm in the #2 when she reminds me I'm #1.

Tracy often lets me know I'm #1 with both hands...hmm...does that also make me #2? Never mind, I can see where I just put myself...

Mike,
We just took and left Dee-Oh-Gee at the vet, He needs two separate operations, blood work and a few other things. We're pretty wacked at the moment. We need to find out tomorrow how the operations went and if he can travel during recovery.
It was a body shot when they asked about DNR.

As you are leaving them they look at you like "traitors". When you pick them up you are "Oh My God, they are here to rescue me, they are hero's" . Hope you get to be hero's tomorrow.

Milo and Karen, we wish the best for D-O-G and a speedy recovery. It just would not be New Years with out him along. Give 'em an extra ear scratch from us.

Thank you all for the well wishes. We are hoping for the best. Amazing how a hound from the pound can work his way into your heart.

Milo & Karen,
We know D-O-G is top priority right now for you guys. Take care of the pup and if you guys can make it we will rustle up special canine goodies.
