Florida State rally

I'm new to this so bear with me please. I'm just getting in to old trailers.

I understand there is a rally near Sarasota starting on 2/23/2005.
Is it open to the public?
Or do I have to join something? What?
Where do I get info on the event?
What does it cost?
What do I have to do to attend?

Thanks very much!

Ed, as far as I know, you can visit at the rally for free, but some activities may be excluded to you, if you are not a paying guest. If you want to bring your Airstream product along, and stay at the rally, you will need to pay the rally admission fee to park and partake of the activities, my fee was $120.00 for two persons.
I am not entirely sure if you have to join to camp at the rally, I believe not, at least the first time, repeat visits may require you to join the WBCCI.
As far as attending, all you have to do is show up, preferably with your coach and a check for the rally admission. Ask someone (almost anyone with a WBCCI badge can help you).
See you there.

How do you know this info - we are signed up and paid our dues, and all we have is a pink receipt to get in. Is there a schedule of events somewhere??

Would love to see one to have a bit of a heads up on what to attend and what not - do a bit of planning on the way down...

Almost packed - have to do all the running around tomorrow and we are starting off sometime on Friday - really excited and can't wait to meet some forum members finally.... (ohhhhpooo the little smillies don't work with my system now uggh is there a new trick I have missed?)

Thanks, all. I don't have a trailer yet but hope to stop by on Thursday.

That has been S.O.P. for years, something that is not in the schedule, but most repeat rallyers know about.
But, now that we have told you, we have to kill you...
Something else you don't know, but will find out after you get there, is there is an arts and crafts show also as part of the schedule of events. I will have an operating train layout there, to demonstrate that you can take your hobby with you and still be in your Airstream.
See you at the rally.

The rally officially opens today. The rally site is the Sarasota Fairgrounds. I-75 to Fruitville road, go West approx 5 miles and the fairgrounds are on the left. There will be a dealer there with many new and some used units. There are always a number of for sale by owner units on the bulletin board as well.

Any idea how many vintage coaches there will be at this rally? We're down here on a 2 week vacation but really shouldn't be travelling all the way across the state to see Airstreams when there is still so much hurrican damage repair yet to be done on my mom's house in Vero Beach. Still, the thought of seeing some nice old Airstreams in 80 degree temperatures is alluring indeed. Saw two or three nice 80's versions on the way down but nothing from the 60's and earlier...
