Fall 2006 VAC Rally

Greetings fellow Airstreamers,

This is a brief update of plans for VAC activities this summer and this coming fall.

The VAC members coming to Salem for the International Rally are invited to join us for a pre-international Rally gathering and parade into the Rally. We will gather on Sunday afternoon, June 25, at the Antique Powerland Museum, 3995 Brooklake Road NE, Brooks, OR. We will dry camp there overnight and line up early Monday morning for the parade into our parking spots at International. The details and directions are posted on our website - www.airstream.net. Come join us!

Over 30 members will be coming down from the Rendezvous at Sisters that precedes the International. The event is open to all WBCCI members. Two spots are still available for the four day Rendezvous and if you can make it, please contact me.

Put the dates of 4 to 8 October on your calendar. The Newport Beach VAC Fall Rendezvous plans are firming up and we will be sending out the announcement and sign up information soon. We will be at the Newport Dunes RV resort - a very nice park on Newport Bay - and we have 60 sites reserved. This will be a joint VAC/El Camino Real Unit event. Your choice of activities are many: How about that day trip to Catalina Island that you have put off for years? Leave early on a fast catamaran, spend 6 hours exploring Catalina, and be back for dinner - less than $50 per person. We will do a Newport Harbor Cruise for Happy Hour on Friday evening followed by your choice of dinner - a 50's style restaurant at the end of the pier or waterfront dining at a number of very nice restaurants. Other activities might include touring Balboa Island and Newport, paddle a rental boat around the harbor or simply relax and play games in our club room. Saturday is our open house and time to see what other Airstreamers have done with their units. A catered prime rib or chicken dinner that evening. See you there?
