The ranger station opens at 8:00. We will be up there on Thursday and historically there have been several others.

Te he last three times, early(by a day) and/or late by a day after(last year, two days after) was allowed, as long as no conflicting schedule for the group area occurred...of course, you have to pay the same rate for the extra days, but the folks at the ranger station are really accommodating...we have been early and stayed late...well, except for that time when the entry drive got moved and no one told me...

i know you can get in and out of the park at any time but they do put a chain up at entrance to the group area when not in use. when we do arrive if ranger office open do we pay them anything or just tell them we are with the group and just turn the money over to you richard.

They keep the gate half open to the group site all the time. If you are arriving a day early, you will need to take care of that with the rangers. Friday and Saturday will be covered with the money you give me. Tell the person at the gate that you are part of the Airstream Group. This is the 4th year for us and they know who we are. I was just at the park a few weeks ago and they were very happy to see us again.

I too was trying everything I could so that I could make it a complete DH rally this year but it aint in the cards. Will probably see you at Resto rally or even something at Antelope canyon if that gets on track.

We are still planning to try to get out of here on Tuesday, but this last storm brought a major issue: We lost about another yard of width in the road (piled up snow, noplace to go with it), so it's going to be tough. Unfortunately, the next storm is in the forecast to hit us Saturday night through Tuesday. This may be the death knell for our trip, dammit. We keep hoping, but things are not looking good.

Is there a lake near by? I had no idea. I just might bring our inflatable as well. We have an 11ft inflatable.

There are three ponds at the park. I know they don't allow wading since these ponds have vinyl liners that they don't want punctured by folks wading / walking on them. I've not seen any boats on any of the ponds but I have seen fishermen, me included, on the water with single person inflatable pontoon boats and float tubes. The far pond is the one I've fished in and I know there is a cement boat launch by the dock.

water ?

we've been getting ready for the upcoming rally at DH [really looking forward to it!!] and i have a quick question about the availibility of fresh water.

when we were there last year we had a site with water and electric.

this will be our first dry-camping experience [filled the propane tanks, charged the battery, bought a generator].

we understand that there is no water at the group area. is there a way to get our AS close enough to use a hose to fill our fresh water tank once we get there?

or do we just fill'er up at home and bring-with?

thanks in advance for the info.
