There was an email that went out on Dec. 7th. Maybe check your spam folder? It had links in it to sign up for the ranger breakfast etc. If you didn't receive it, you could send an email to canopener2020@gmail.com. This is where it came from. I didn't see any disclaimers that you couldn't reply to that address so I would think you should get a response. Hope this helps.

Gloria - You should have received an email on Saturday, "Canopener Info, Schedule, and Signups". You might check your Junk or Spam folder in case it kicked in there. If you'll open the link "Click for Activities" - there is a place to register for all of the official activities - same with Volunteer Activities. If you didn't receive, please email us at Canopener2020@gmail.com. See you in a few weeks!

Getting ready to leave Saturday.
Replaced the old dual lens light fixtures with LED type after socket and switch broke on two originals. I am planning to bring old ones down to give away if someone wants parts.
Also plan to play guitar/bass every night.

Been checking daily, but doesn't look like we will be able to get a campsite...maybe next year we will get something early and join you folks. Enjoy!

Late Breaking Volunteer Project - Want to help the park out with some good old trail maintenance?
Jan. 2 meet at Tram Station 2 at 1:15 - the park will have some equipment, but if you can bring pruning shears, loppers, rakes, gloves and of course a water bottle, snacks, and comfortable clothing - we'll get you back to the campground before 4 - just in time for Opening Night at the Clubhouse!
If you can help out - please let us know so we can give them a head count!

Hopefully will be getting underway to our stop for tonight at Stephen Foster in an hour or less. After I picked up the trailer from storage on Friday, I had to remount my old converter since the new one didn't come in, put new latches on my DIY end table/storage cabinet top, and rebuild the LF disc brake caliper. 2 out of three were self-inflicted wounds. The caliper I discovered when I picked up the trailer from storage. Luckily my local family-run auto parts place had a seal and a dust boot in stock.
Hope to see everyone tomorrow!

We just arrived today. We're staying until Monday the 6th. When you say that you would "miss the jam", what do you mean? Is there a pre-scheduled jam that i don't know about? If so it was probably posted on Facebook so all the traditionalists missed it. Phil

Yes! to the jam session on opening night. Come prepared to play.
Aluminum.pouring in! A few things before we start the Canopening tomorrow.
1. Large whiteboards with the day's activities and any changes will be placed at the laundry, clubhouse and entrance to the 100's loops. We will also post on facebook and airforums each day.
2. BYOC - Bring Your Own Cups - drinks, coffee, and otherwise to all events.
3. Registration to play Cornhole is AT the tournament. $2 entry fee
4. Some changes are a'coming. The Florida State Parks bid out some operations last year - and the Topsail gift shop is now run by a Concessionaire - some lovely folks - Meagan, Josh & Micah - who are also responsible for renting the clubhouse as an event space. So, while we are grandfathered in (free) this year - there will be fees in the coming years for its use. The planning group is looking at all of this and will see how to best handle activities, need for the clubhouse, and so on. Our goal is to keep Canopener as fun - and as inexpensive as possible! Stay tuned.

Happiest of New Years, Canopeners!
A new year is upon us and we have lots in store to bring the first day in...

11 am Flamboyant Polar Plunge - yes, that's a bunch of flamingos dipping their toes in the Gulf to welcome the new year... Meet at Tram Station #2 for a ride to the beach. Plunge at 11:30!
All day - just check out this beautiful park, catch a few bowl games... and who knows what you'll find!
Tomorrow: Volunteer Trail Project - 1:15 at Tram Station #2
12 noon Grayton Beer Company Wanna Party Bus to Breweries? - $33/pp text: 478-284-2847. Need to have 10 more folks by 5 today - otherwise drive!

"Do, do, do, looking out my back door". Ok, we don't have a back door in our 34', but if we did, this would be our view! Site 73 (and a couple more) back up to the pond and we like that. The other picture is actually out our door, and we like the privacy provided by the vegetation (like most sites here).
Thanks to the Arkansas Unit for the most excellent fish fry yesterday!
Thanks also to Stewball for sharing his Solo Stove campfire last night.
Sorry we couldn't make Flamingle, but family life requires some adjustments.
Hoping the weather warms up without too much rain. Although rain is forecast for Friday, it may be a typical Florida rain that hits for a quick burst then is gone.
Phil
