Calling All 68's - 50th Birthday Party at Salem

This year marks the 50th birthday of 1968 Airstreams. A group from WBCCI/VAC is planning a celebration with as many examples of 1968 Airstreams as we can assemble at the Salem, Oregon Rally in June. If you are planning to be at the 2008 International Rally in Salem and have a 68 Airstream, we would like to hear from you.

The plan is to recreate an Airstream Dealer lot from 1968 and we want to have at least one of each model/length. Original, restored, or renovated are all welcome. We will recreate some of the original literature and price lists and have an open house for those attending the International Rally.

We are considering other 1968-themed activities such as a cocktail party with vintage dress and music.

If anyone has 1968 literature and pictures you are willing to share or please let us know. We would also love to have some vehicles of the same vintage. A small contribution (est $20) to defray costs will be requested of participants.

Thanks Rob for posting. All 1968 Airstreams are welcome, we plan to rendezvous and parade in together so we can park together. So far I have an original brochure magazine, along with items from the Airstream factory in Los Angelas where our Airstream was built including the price the original owner paid for our Airstream and cost of all the options. Airstream Inc has sent me information on the 1968 Dealers Meeting. If you won't be able to attend and have fun facts about the 1968 Airstream and Airstream Dealers please post or send a PM to me. Great idea, wish I could make it, but just too far. Hope someone makes some videos and pics. Love to see it.
