As always, 4 days of food, fun, fellowship, seminars, craft fair, flea market, beer swap, Bourbon Trail, walking, talking, biking, hiking, paddling, picking, grinning, campfires, miles of aluminum and lots of paroozing, all with your like-minded friends.
No membership is required, everyone is always welcome.
The Tom Johnson Camping World Rally Park features nearly 300 full hook up sites in rally style parking on beautiful flat, mowed grass.
Rally style parking means side by side, back end to back end, in rows, yet with ample room to deploy awnings and set up a very nice camp. Every site has 20/30/50-amp power, water, and sewer.
We also have a 13,000 square foot pavilion with kitchen, stage and a restroom. Also, a bath house, handicap parking, a cafe’, walking trails along the Catawba River, restaurants nearby, and Camping World next door. Plus, lots of open green space.
We have secured a special camping rate of $35/night. We will also ask for a TBD rally fee to cover the food costs and a few other necessities. We will make every effort to have food suitable for everyone.
****There is no need for a reservation, we have the entire Rally Park reserved. Simply show up, pick a site, set up, then pay up. We will help you check in and provide a complete Rally Packet for you with all the info you will need for a fabulous rally.
Check in for the Rally Park, and Rally check in will both be at the Pavilion so very easy for everyone.
No one will be left guessing.
All sites are the same, there is no pecking order. Just come and have fun.
We maintain a list of those coming for planning purposes only. Simply post to the thread, drop me a note, give me a call, or send a Carrier Pigeon, or Pony Express, or tie a note to a balloon. If using balloon, wind needs to be blowing towards South Carolina.
Marion, NC is a beautiful small town of 8500 people located just off of I40 in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, “Where Mainstreet Meets the Mountains”.
The Blue Ridge Parkway and Mt. Mitchell, highest point east of the Mississippi, are just a short drive away. Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, and much more are just up the road.
You are more than welcome to come early. If you do, please check in at the Campground office across the street in the big building with the green roof, and pay them for your site. Our special rally rate applies regardless of number of nights.

Odds and ends.....
Food costs have gone through the roof, so the Rally Fee is TBD but as always, will be a bargain. The head count is critical. Coming or going.
Alumalina is not for profit, we just need to break even or just a little bit better than even to have starter money each year.
The formula seems to work fine, so expect the same as always.....
The famous kick off meet your neighbors Hot Dog Feast on Thursday.
Friday either BBQ or Tacos/Burritos sourced fresh and local.
And of course the legendary Saturday Night Fish Fry prepared hot on site.
Coffee and donuts, both fresh and local, each morning.
The "Big Show" on Saturday afternoon features Crafts Fair, Flea Market, the Beer Swap, the Bourbon Trail, and some serious socializing, all under the Pavilion.

At least, that's what we're planning now while diesel is still under $6/gallon.
I plan to help with sound, as well as play my guitar and bass (maybe even torture people with my new-to-me violin) as often as I can.

If we can ever get everything on the trailer fixed and working, Al and Missy will be there. One problem or another (some of them self-inflicted wounds) since August. Current disaster is the fridge died. After paying to have the cooling unit replaced, it won't even power up. Going back to the shop Wednesday.
