Airstream Homecoming Festival

Wonder who within this forum might be planning to attend the Airstream Festival - Oct 1 - 5? We've signed up and will be looking forward to meeting other Forum members and seeing the birthplace of our trailer.

How can we spot you among the crowd? We'll be easy to spot: look for the Big Orange Truck --- would like to see/meet others there as well.

I am thinking about going, not sure if I'll tow the coach along though. I imagine the Teleport will be packed. If the weather is nice I'll wear my blue Airstream T-Shirt.

Don, how is your Airstream holding up, being towed by that Freightliner? Do you have an air cushioned hitch? That is my main concern with going to a Class 8 conversion. I know "femuse" stated that they had problems with their MDT shaking and breaking parts of their interior, and they went to an air hitch for their new trailer.

Today I finished with my new carpet installation in the trailer. Turned out just fine. I'm hoping the carpet does not all slide towards the front of the trailer during the next outing <grin> Now if only my wife can keep me from making a mess of things....

Freightliner report: after 6,000 miles, the trailer still tows just fine behind the big truck. The truck air suspension really works. We've left water in the dogs dish inside the trailer - tow about 200 miles - stop for a rest and let the dogs enter the trailer for a drink. No spilled water. Nothing seems to move around in the trailer, either. Observations in the rear view mirror of the truck indicate the trailer is riding very smooth. So far nothing indicates I need to make any changes. I do not have anti-sway or leveling bars - not really needed behind 15,000 pound truck.

Very pleased with the combination so far.
