The vent stacks on my '58 look like hell. How about some instruction on how to make new ones?

This was a great demo.....
Kip is a Aircraft Sheet Metal mechanic - he is incredilble in his knowledge and we are so lucky to have him. You name it and he can do it with metal.

Chris would like to see making compound curves because he's going to be doing a new front headliner in our trailer. Anything we learn will be a bonus and appreciated!

Here's a pic showing the vent stacks. Sorry, it isn't a close up. The two stacks are on the left.

Yeah!! I'd looove to make one!
Or at least see one...
Also, I am going to take the forward inside end cap out- it's fiberglass. And wanted to make aluminum segments, like the rear. Maybe those aren't really a "fabrication"?
questions, questions...

Wow, Shari. Those are beautiful. I assume you made those? Or did you have somebody make them for you? Mine look like they're 52 years old.

Thanks Mike! Ours are original 1956...we just polished them.
I have seen other "originals" that weren't polishable though - guess we got lucky!

Ken...There are probably some attendees who are not on the Forums, so if you get a kick-back from an email address from someone who hasn't given you a Forum handle, please give them a call to let them know that you got thier deposit check and to get their correct email...I've received a note from one attendee who is concerned that their check has been lost...I directed them to email you to ask for confirmation. Thanks.

Shari - Yes I would say you got lucky with those stacks - the best I could do was paint them...

I though I had already posted a reply to thus, Oh well Old Timers Disease.
Without a lot of expensive tooling it would be almost impossible to form these with hand tools. However we could probably improve them.

Ok folks, I have my plane tickets. I am arriving in ABQ around noon on Thursday the 9th. I will be renting a car from the airport. As mentioned, I have a limited diet and will be visiting the grocery stores, etc. If anyone wants a ride from the airport and/or wants to go shopping, let me know. We are leaving Enchanted Falls on Monday morning sometime to visit Sante Fe for a couple of days. We fly out of ABQ on Wednesday mid-afternoon.
If anyone needs to get a hold of me, please do so. I've responded to two posts- hopefully you've received responses... Im looking forward to helping to fix food, etc. Last year the stove worked in the rented trailer so i should be able to cook there- or in the facility kitchen.
You can also call/text me: 860.304.2117. (I'm on Atlantic time) and Direct email : sparklerae@gmail.com

We, too, are now gluten free. Plus no dairy or beef.
