2023 Rock Springs, WY Int. Rally

As you may know the next International Rally will be held in Rock Springs, WY on June 24 thru 30th.

Interestingly all camping sites will have 50A service, water and sewer.

This is an announcement, including fee structure, made here at the rally being held in Fryeburg:

"Online registration will open Thursday, July 28th at 2:00 p.m. and registration information is below (please note the payment structure related to arrival dates has changed):

Arrive 1 day EARLY – Friday, June 23 $50.00
Arrival 2 days EARLY – Thursday, June 22 $100.00
Arrival 3 days EARLY – Wednesday, June 21 $150.00
Adult (18 and over) per person $125.00
Youth (13 and up) per person $75.00
Children (4 to 12) per person $50.00
Children 3 and under FREE $0.00
Lifetime Member Discount $-20.00"

There has been no official announcement about 2024 but rumor has it that it will be in Missouri.

Went to the International when it was in Farmington, New Mexico. It was literally too far away from everything and there were about 420 Airstreams. The few businesses at the main hall was pathetic. I say this as the next year's rally is similarly in the boon docks.

The Int'l Rally is a requirement of the bylaws. Nothing in the writeup so far serve as an enticement to me to drop over $600 to attend plus the costs coming and going. And the extra cost events like dinners are not free either.

I have never gone, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about these event. So I’m curious and it should be an experience, good or maybe not so good. Either way it’s always fun to get the trailer out and see somewhere new and meet new and old friends.

I registered for it. Will enjoy a trip to that area and the rally is an excuse and a good rest period. Going in 3 days early. I skipped Farmington. The rally to us is more about the people and less about the events.

It will be our first international. We look forward to parking, parading and talking with the vintage crowd, attending Seminars and meeting with vendors.

The trip itself will be pretty and we're looking for a scenic spot not to far away to enjoy the 4th weekend.

The international location is offering Airstreamers a deal to stay on location but an open parking lot is not usually our first choice.

Those types of venues are always going to be chosen when you're trying to pack in several hundred people in trailers. That many trailers is always a pretty sight and it's lots of nice people to visit with. Our recent region 11 rally was our first rally of that size and a fairground location and we had a good time.

It cost money to rent venues, chairs, tables, setup vender areas and gather that many people. Although this is not what we would normally spend to camp we do want to experience it at least once or maybe several times.

Now to get some more work done on the trailer. We've got 11 months surely we're not going to still be fiddling with things next June [emoji57].

I find the gripe about rallies being held in the "boondocks" away from services interesting. I thought that was the point in owning a camper.

We are signed up for Rock Springs. It's within reach of wonderful country and will be fun with friends.

Las Vegas could be a perfect location for 2025.

They could offer free parking, free meals for a week, and tape $100 bills to your door every night, and some people on this site would find a reason to complain about it.

Don't forget to sign up for VAC parking and attend the VAC event bdrore and parade in with the VAC trailers. We will be there.

Planning before and after travel. If you are coming from the east through Laramie, and can handle steep slopes and 10,000 ft altitudes, don't miss the Snowy Range Scenic Byway, aka highway 130. We drove it in 2018 on the way to Salem towing our Classic 30 with our Ram 2500 diesel - no problem, just need to manage RPMs on the steep parts. Be advised there are significant areas with no cell coverage.

Fryeburg was a fairly rural location and I heard nothing but praise for the abundance of activities available, great scenery, all supported by the largest attendance in 20+ years. From my perspective, attending Fryeburg (we did) and signing up for Rock Springs (we did) provides an opportunity to see and do much more than just the rally location. About 7 weeks for us to and from our home near San Antonio, Niagara Falls, a bourban tour, Assateague National Seashore, and more. Rock Springs will evolve into the Pacific NW, wine country, a few more National Parks, and places I haven’t even thought about yet. The journey is so much more than the destination.
