Even though you are ‘at large’ members, you are welcome at any unit rally anywhere! The Blue Beret lists many of them in the Region section, and, there are web links to region and unit web sites with the rally info. There are too many good people and good times you miss when not finding a local rally.....

Any early arrivals at the rally yet? Regular arrivals will be starting this week. WDCU will have 18 (or more) rigs attending.

We will be caravanning with 5 other rigs from our unit and plan on arriving on Friday morning.

It's our first international so we don't know exactly what to expect and are anticipating a good time.

One thing I'm pretty sure about is that it will be HOT, especially this weekend. 101 is forecast for Saturday. I hope the power is adequate!

See you there!

The early workers are hard at work....

.....setting up so everyone can come and enjoy the Rally.

We have been here since last Wednesday. So far the power has been great....around 120 v consistently. Just be sure when you plug in that all your connections are clean and tight.

And very good water pressure as well.

Hot, for sure, and gonna get hotter but we have had a wonderful breeze.

For those coming for the first time.....You will like it!

See ya soon.

John

We have registered and are "At Large" members also. This our first rally and we are excited to see what it is all about. We hope everyone has adequate power and AC to keep cool for this time of year in Virginia. Checking in on Friday with high hopes.

94 degrees out but humidity only 50%. Not too bad. I would recommend stopping at Walmart and buy a box fan for inside. Really helps and many here have.

You must have consumed the Koolaid! 100 degrees, dewpoint of 73 F. A box fan isn't going to do anything except spread the misery. You better have air conditioning or be as tough as our ancestors.

Went into the International Rally yesterday with the WDCU.

Would have to say, the current conditions are very much like the human body,

98.6 Degrees of heat, and between 79-83 percent water (like lungs/kidneys) in the air.

Some of the WDCU folks were talking about how we use to do it with 3amp service!

All is good,

Enjoy,

Ventured out to Walmart. Saw close to 10 Airstreamers on the road heading this way. I never see that many on the road! Although hot, everyone is happy and friendly. The rally will be great! The picture is taken from the mansion on the property and doesn't really capture the size of the property that is filling up with Airstreamers. Click image for larger version

The A/C is on but the fan helps move the air around the trailer and feels good. Please feel free to take a pass on my recommendation.

No shade anywhere. Currently 97 degrees with 35% humidity. My a/C is keeping at 83 and the fan really helps.

It is very hot. Feel bad for the folks on asphalt and / or generator. Our group has a pool..as seen on the edge of photo....only 6 people at a time. But feels great at end of day! I think several other groups brought small pools. At least there is more of a breeze today. Click image for larger version

My only point is that relative humidity is pretty much meaningless, because as temp increases, relative humidity decreases. Dewpoint is a much better measure of comfort. The temps there are very hot and the dewpoints have been in the 70's, very uncomfortable and typical for East Coast summers. I did not mean to say a fan would not help. I always use a fan inside, even when running A/C because it feels better and distributes the air better in my non-ducted air.

Was told that someone measured temp off the asphalt today at 140 degrees. Some have to park on it. They won't get much relief even at night with that much heat radiating underneath. Hopefully a little rain will cool things down

Wow! That was quite the rally. Lots to do - seminars, friends, tours, friends, entertainment, friends, fire pits, friends, evening jam session, friends...

Already signed up for Loveland, CO in 2020.
