Candy,
We will definitely track down that other Iowa license plate at the rally! We were able to get a spot at Enchanted Trails the night before. Now we're trying to decide how far to travel that day; will be working our way down past Denver.
We're getting excited to hit the road, and have been checking our email for any rally updates, but haven't seen any more info yet--were there any recently?

I haven't seen any updates from Ken. Anyone else know? Since I might have missed something? We are so excited!! This should be a really wonderful trip and a fun rally.
Eileen, we are going through Colorado also with a stop for fishing and sightseeing in Santa Fe first.

That is correct - I took a little vacation last week and now I'm slammed with work stuff - plus out of town visitors - so I'll be getting something - actually more than you all can stand soon......... As mentioned above - I'm meeting with the Fiesta Folks on Tues to finalize our parking arrangements - stay tuned!!

rules for guests
As a 1st. timer at the Balloon Fiesta, I have a couple of questions.
1. Is it OK to have my daughter, son-in-law, & 4 year old grandson stay with us? Cramped quarters in a 24' Trade Wind, but we can stand it for 1 or 2 nights.
2. Can we purchase additional balloon field passes, so that we can all go out together?
Thanks

Jan and I are looking forward to seeing you and your award winning trailer at the fiesta. Tickets can be bought at the gate where you enter the field, so that should not be a problem.

Just ran across a program about the 2008 fiesta on PBS.
WOW,WOW, WOW is all I can say. Would love to see this in person, but alas I am not retired yet.
Hopefully it will be possible to be there next year.
Watching on tv was amazing can't imagine what it would be like for real.
Be safe and enjoy the fiesta, looking forward to next year.

fbg: I think there are still a number of open slots on non-weekend days. We couldn't be with the group this year, but are arriving on Monday, Oct. 3, for a few days. Check the Fiesta website for dates and options: Welcome to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

Follow up question.
Is it allowed (or appropriate) to put up a pup tent for Grandpa & Grandson to sleep next to the trailer? If allowed, is our area grass, dirt, gravel, or pavement?
Four adults and a 4 year old may be more than the old Airstream can sleep for one night.
Thanks

I have never seen a tent in the area, but we have erected easy ups. The rules for the area are here: http://www.balloonfiesta.com/uploads...ons%202011.pdf
but I do not a definite answer for you.
The ground is a mix of dirt, gravel and blacktop. There is no grass, trees or any vegetation.

I say no - it would not be a very good experience - very hard surface and just not a place I would want to put a tent....

Thanks for the responses. Besides the surface, the rules are for RVs, implying no tents.
This will be a great opportunity for the family to get closer.

Last year the TVs were parked behind the Streams. Each site is big enough to accommodate a big ol' class A SOB.
