We're in for this one. Let's see...what do I need to get done before this rally? What do I need to save for getting done at the rally?

Yikes - we only have about 10 seats (ie units) left at the table - so if you are thinking about joining us, don't wait to long - I've already started the discussion with the planning committee about expanding it beyond the 30 units...

Ken, Great to see we will have a good turnout again already. The rally last year was of great value with great people. Thanks for your effort in organizing this rally again. I look forward to attending! Ed

Yea this will be fun
Ed (n2batr) is our highly experienced door and vent presenter this year - I'm really looking forward to his door rebuilding seminar.

Somehow I missed the fine print about taking the trailers apart and swapping parts... Anyhow Linda says we need to learn how to "ribit" so we plan to attend.
Ken J, I'll PM you this morning.

Right now I am a definite maybe . Loved it last year and had a great time. I don't know yet if the job will give me time off since I'm going to the Luau too. But maybe I feel a cough coming on.

You have a tentative yes for me at the rally. It will require some swapping around of a Canadian trip on my co-workers part to make this happen.

Ken - always good read the fine print
Jerry - hope you can make it - I hope that cough gets a little worse....
Plans are being developed at this point - but Friday evening (6pm) is the first official time we get together - we start with a potluck - I'll probably be there Thurs night, so I can get stuff ready for Friday and folks will be arriving all during the day on Fri (you are welcome to come early and stay late too! )
When we get the plans finalized, I'll be sending everone an e-mail with the schedule

Count me in
Ken,
Had a great time last year, learned a lot from experienced restorers. This year I'll be coming down with my trailer instead of my motorcycle even if it's just an aluminum tent. I'll use this deadline to motivate me to get my butt in gear and whip this little Caravel into shape.

Ken,
Is there a sign up page somewhere?
We would like to attend.

This is a rally for anyone interested in hands on learning all of the ins and outs of restoring a vintage trailer, or just seeing how these trailers are put together.
This rally is part seminar (classroom) and part hands on and does not require you to bring your trailer. Topics anticipated are as follows:
Complete overview of trailer restoration – with lots of photos to see
Rivet and skin skills taught by Aircraft experts
Cabinet building skills
Zolatone painting (this will be worth it alone)
Electrical – basic and high tech wiring
Axle replacement
Door rebuilding/repair
Solar
And more!
So here is the deal….. we are limited in classroom space, which limits this rally to 30 units. Pre-registration has filled this rally 1/3 full already (those who attended last year get first priority). If the demand is there we will consider expanding this rally by renting a fully enclosed tent. So we will confirm attendance up to 30 units. After that we will take reservations and make our decision on expansion based on the reservation list.
So you want details…? Ok - we hold this rally the last weekend in April (24-27) at Enchanted Trails RV Park and Trading Post (an old route 66 trading post) in Home Albuquerque NM. The weather is usually pretty nice this time of year (maybe a little breezy ) and is the perfect time to get going on your pre-season restorations. Our rally fee will be the same as last year ($30 per person – adult $20 each child) plus as screaming deal of $14 per night to Enchanted Trails (thank you Vicki!!) for the camp site.
So what do you get for your 30 bucks? You get a great learning experience plus a catered meal on Saturday night (so you don’t have to worry about cooking after working hard all day) a pancake breakfast (so you won’t have to worry about cooking after staying up late on Sat night) Sunday morning and a great restoration manual to take home with you.

I found you. Lou and I will be there, per our emails yesterday. We'll be in touch with you about meals, etc. We more than likely will be there on that Thursday evening also (might be late). We have a vent fan (that works) from when we had the Fantastic Fan installed that we will bring if anybody needs one.
