We signed up as soon as we got the notice. Last years CBR was our first WDCU rally, and we had such a great time there's no way we would ever miss another one. We made some good friends, and it was our pleasure to meet you, Melissa, and the "Spirit". I got some ideas from your restoration that I will use on my 68 Trade Wind.

How many are on the waiting list? If participants sign up for the private campgrounds how many would there be there? Maybe could have some events alternately at both locations. Although the dry camping option would be a good idea to keep everyone together and not have to drive over.

Reserves
I have Reserves that weekend, but will be staying over at least one night... I hope if my schedule works out... it's about 90 miles from the Rally site to Quantico. You'll see me one evening at least!

This will be our first time attending this rally, AND DC during Cherry Blossom time. I'm reading the schedule and it says something about a parade in Washington at 10am on Saturday?
What can you tell me about this?

Put me on the Wait List!
I wasn't sure I could make it but now things have cleared up. Put me on the wait list please.

The plan (weather permitting) is to drive to the closest Metro station and then ride to the Cherry Blossom Parade route.
We did not go to the parade last year, we went to Annapolis MD for crab instead...yum

I'm going! And I'm travelling REALLY FAR to get there: 8 miles. Straight line distance is even less.

Oh, hey, I never noticed that calendar function. That's cool. Looks like there are 11 listed there now.

Airstream barrel chair
I have the living room barrel chair from my 1991 Excella.
I would offer it at $5.00 for the first hour of Saturdays sale then offer it free for the second hour and offer to pay someone $5.00 to take it for the third hour.
To save me this embarassing expense of the third hour let me know if you are interested in it for free and I will bring it along.
Chair shows ware but is sound for re-upholstring.

"0" is right. Please don't just show up. We really are full for this year and I have a list of 4 for next year.

Looks like the CBR needs to be held over for two sessions or look into moving the rally site to accommodate more people. I was a little disappointed after joining WDCU this year that there is not enough room at the rally for its members. I think I am not alone as to new membership this year. I think many new memberships have been added. Is a business meeting held at the rally? I see the next rally after that is cancelled too.

Carol, WDCU needs members who would like to hold rallys. Sounds like something you would be good at. Let us know when yours will be and we will all show up.

Doug I don't know how good I am or would be at it but I did help Lou organize the first forums rally here in Metro Detroit. Now we will be having the third annual Louapalooza and Lou and John have to find us a larger spot this year because we are anticipating a larger group. That will be in August. C'mon over!! We have a few people from Canada too.
In June, send out the women!! We will be thrilled to have our rally well attended and meet new friends. (And there again we will have some from out your way.) http://www.airforums.com/forums/306182-post1.html

It wouldn't make sense to hold two sessions - it's centered around the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC, which only goes on for one week.
Moving it is theoretically possible but would probably incur a lot of expense - there aren't that many campgrounds within striking distance of DC and they tend to be relatively expensive, and this is a popular weekend so I wouldn't expect much discount for a group rate.
This year, they sent out a notice to WDCU members first for registration, then opened it up for everyone else, because it is so popular. Sorry you missed it, but there's always next year...

Just a suggestion. I didn't know you were full up until I read it here. Star says somehow we weren't listed on the members list. Hey I am older than you-- I like to think there is next year! nuff said.

Yeah, WDCU needs to get better about mentioning that email list to new recruits - I was in several months before I found out about it, and the only reason I did hear about it was that someone sent a mass email with an announcement about something else that happened to mention the list.
Now I feel bad - I had assumed you meant you hadn't signed up until sometime after December. But, now I realize you probably signed up well before that but weren't told about the list and so missed the WDCU-members registration announcement. I'd be annoyed to miss a rally that way, and I'm sorry if that's what happened.
