2005 International...I'm going, are you?
I just thought it might be fun to start a list of folks that are planning on attending the International Rally in Springfield coming up - very quickly I might add.
Post your name and dates you plan on being there so we can plan a Happy Hour or Potluck Supper together...a mini-forum rally within the rally! InsideOut - 6/21 thru 7/5
Mr. InsideOut - 6/25 thru 7/5
Pahaska - 6/28 thru 7/4
Herb Spies - 6/24 thru 7/5
rluhr - 6/28 thru 7/4
mkeith54 - 6/24 thru 7/4
47WeeWind - 6/26 thru 7/5
Edie G - 6/25 thru 7/2 or 3
Coloradobus - 6/26 thru 7/5
wingfoot321 - 6/20 thru 7/5
Forrest - 6/26 thru 7/5
MarkE - 6/23 thru 7/4
Overlander64 - 6/26 thru 7/5
Tmeeker - 6/27 thru 7/5
DPeakMD - 6/26 - 7/5
I know of several other Forum Members that have mentioned they are going in various threads/posts...but I'll let them out themselves! Post your info and I'll add you to the list ~
Shari
BTW I'll be parked in the 30amp President's section 6/21 thru 6/25 then at the vintage 30amp section after that...

Not going to be able to make it. However, after seeing that one of the posted events is a prostrate check I might reconsider.

Going
I'll arrive about noon the 28th and leave early the 5th. I would like to meet some forum faces there.
I'll giving a seminar on developing unit websites at the rally. Not that anyone here probably needs that.

I live here, but am not WBCCI. Would I be permitted to enter the sacrosanct campground?

47WeeWind will be there ...
in the 30 amp. Vintage section from 6/27 to 7/5, but I'll be staying in my temporarily air conditioned 1964 Globe Trotter. I look forward to seeing again those who were at the 2005 Homecoming and meeting those who weren't. I also expect to quiet a nearby squawking flamingo.

Guess you have your answer. I too was wondering if non WBCCI folks could get into the rallys, if not with their Airstreams.....

Hardly an answer...I'm just an attendee like everybody else, I have no idea...I'm not going to speak out of line.
But I do know the Vintage Open House is 'open to the public' so if I had to guess...I would say yes...you can come visit, but won't be able to stay or attend the seminars, meals or the scheduled events.

I'll be there 6/25 - 7/2 or 7/3. I will be staying with Jean Hutson, #31082 in the 30-amp section. I plan to bring forum member buttons, unless someone else on the forum has already made arrangements to do so.
I am presenting an Introduction to Buying and Selling on eBay seminar on 6/29 at 2:45. Like John, I doubt anyone on this forum needs my advice.

I can't say what they plan to do this year, but I can tell you about last year. My sister and nephew are not members of the club, but were permitted to attend the rally on the days they were in Lansing at a motel. They were made welcome at all events, but had to pay a small fee in order to attend the evening entertainment.
Also, I remember that you could attend the rally in your AS even without being WBCCI members. There was a little confusion at the registration tables on the first day how to handle non-members, but it got smoother as they gained experience.
WBCCI wants to welcome non-members to join us; it's sort of a try before you buy opportunity.

Another Seminar ...
Like John and Edie, I too will be giving a Seminar at International. At 1:00-2:00 p.m on Thursday, 6/30, I'll give a Power Point presentation on 1958-1968 Airstream trailer evolution and history that I gave at the 2005 Homecoming last week. If they can schedule it in, I'll give a second PP presentation on 1932-1957 Airstream trailer history and development that I put together since signing up for International.
In addition, I'll repeat both PP presentations informally during evenings in the Vintage Section at a time to be mutually determined. These informal presentations will be more discussion than lecture, as we'll have more time for dialogue among and observations from participants. International is, in large part, what we make it. Instead of idly complaining the WBCCI doesn't cater to my specific entertainment needs, I'll be bringing my passions to the party to share with others. A great way to learn something is to teach it.

Oval AIR buttons at International?

Edie: Now that Andy is officially licensed, how about field testing a white AIR oval on a blue background for the Forum buttons at International? That LARGE TYPE geezer friendly design would be instantly recognizable at a distance and wouldn't require me to slap on my spectacles to read fine print to learn what the button says.

I will also be at springfield parked adjacent to the airstream tent. WBCCI 1611. Look forward to seeing the forums crowd. Will be there from 6/20-7/5.
Visitors are welcome in the campground, at the airstream tent, dealer sales area, etc. You would need tickets to go into town and attend some of the scheduled events at the convention center. They may have visitor passes at the convention center, I don't know for sure.

We are leaving Vermont on June 24, but who knows when we will arrive! It's a LOOOOONG drive, 1400 miles plus minor detours for courtesy parking. With a child in the car and a possible stop in Jackson Center, I expect we won't arrive before June 28.
We'll stay until the end, July 4, or until our A/C conks out!

I think that's called a pay back for everybody having to come out your way a couple of years ago!
It'll even be worse for you next year in Salem, OR, can't get much further away from Vermont!
See you there!
