Two Weeks ....

Ok, I think we have figured out Friday and Saturday evening meals.
Feel free to copy and paste when you add a food item.

FRIDAY evening:

Fish Fry
Steve and Lauren will be bringing the fish, oil, propane fryer and pan. If you would like to bring a food item to the potluck meal, sign-up below. We will chip in to cover the cost of the fish Steve brings. I think that is fair.

Jane and Keith: Alligator meat (fry up) and eggplant fries.. Ok, I'm still grain-free, sugar-free and low carb!...

Saturday evening:

Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Rich and Tom and bringing a container of Gumbo that feeds 16

Jane/Keith: Salad

Activities in our park or close by

1. There are canoe and boat rentals at our park.
Chicot State Park

Rental Boats (State Park operated rentals)

Flat Bottom Boats $15 per day includes 2 paddles and 3 life jackets

Canoes $5 per hour or
$20 per day includes paddles, life jackets
Additional life jackets can be rented for $1 each where available
Price varies with concessionaire rentals - please contact site to check availability and rates

Matt's son is bringing his kayak...

2. There is the State LOUISIANA STATE ARBORETUM STATE PRESERVATION AREA
A few folks have mentioned an interest in this place.

http://crt.louisiana.gov/louisiana-state-parks/parks/louisiana-state-arboretum-state-preservation-area/index

3. Fishing is to be good here, so you may want to grab your fishing pole!
OK, I don't know if it's to be good, but even at GREAT fishing spots you can come back home with an empty ice chest!

4. Dying Easter Eggs and making simple baskets for the Easter Bunny to bring Sunday morning to the campsites in our loop.. So we need to make 29! Just bring a few boiled eggs, if you would like. I think I have everything else figured out. I promise this should be a fun activity!

Cocktail Hour is from: Thursday - Monday Morning!

How about if I do the rice instead? I've been scratching my poor bald head over something to bring that's easy for a mostly-non-cook to fix, and rice is easy enough. How much do you think we'll need for each night?

Rice would be perfect.. Someone else will have to chime in on how much.. I know the amount cooked is always too much - usually only a large spoon of rice that would go into the bowl..

OK, I have you down for rice.. Now, quit scratching that bald head! ha

Don't forget this weekend is the "Two Weeks From Anywhere" spring rally at chicot state park outside Alexandria, LA! You've got one week to clean out your airstream and start the spring off right! Consider it a shakedown weekend to see what you forgot to pack before your three week trek out west, and meet some great folks!

If anyone had any small paint brushes, could you please bring them. If we finish dying eggs, we might make a few 'Faberge' eggs, which involves gluing pretty colored tissue paper on hollowed out eggs.
Thanks, Jane
