We are in Florida at Ft Desoto Campground....all I can say is wow. This place is gorgeous, well equipped and tons to do. The beach is outstanding and the many bike trailes and waterways for fishing, kayking and so on are fabulous. Here until Friday...70's and sunny

Do they have Wi-Fi or are you using an air-card?
Heard it is gorgeous. I am envious!

Neither I am using my Mom's Imac 30 miles down the road
Today we walked the beach, biked the 3 miles or so to the Fort, fished a little, and tried to rent a Kayak. I had asked yesterday about renting for today at 2:30 they told me no problem, then I got there and they were coming 3 hours early. So much for the kayaking. Sorry I did not buy one..

Reservation Date confirmed
The Park has sites for us for the MAY 15 weekend. The June date is unavailable due to a festival there.
So I would suggest start making reservations for May 15, and I will do the same. Birthday party! Hope lots of you all can make it.

Alan, we saw you guys heading north on I-75 about 3:45 on 12/26 when we were on our way south. I flashed my lights and told Becki that I recognized your rig. She said it's pretty bad when you see people you know going down the road. I told her there are only so many Airstreams and only a few towed by Excursions.
Hope your New Year was great and hope you enjoyed Ft. De Soto Park.

we sure did enjoy that park...one of the best I have ever been too.
We saw a number of Airstreams, and I do remember seeing yours although we were not sure it was you..

Regina and I [Jim Rogers] will be there. We will be the new ones in the 1987 Air Stream 345. I'll call and make reservations in the next few day. What are the better sites to get. Maybe by the water? or where ever. I'll let email you and let you know what site we have.

The water sites are always great, but any site there is nice. The rows of sites are laid out mostly up hill from each other so the views are good from almost all.

Which section this time?
Perhaps we'll finally make it to this rally.

Anne and I reserved B11 for this rally.
Sounds like most of the water sites are already booked.

Gee Kathy, how far is the drive? Could you set up Friday night and drive to work on Saturday and drive back Saturday after work in time for the potluck?

Regina and I [Jim] are new to your group and I just booked C-7. We will be there on Thursday, May 14 and leave out on Monday the 18th. I hope we are not to far from all the action. We will be in the Air Stream 345 motor home. Do we need a tow vehicle with us? Let us know if we need to bring anything special.

Alan, I cannot find the May 2009 calendar entry for Springstream. Is it not in the Rally Calendar yet, or is it in the wrong date?
For those interested/checking it out, the campground Website is at Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds: Hiawassee, Georgia: Country Music Capital of Georgia.
The large campground map is at Untitled Document.
Reservations can be made by calling (706) 896-4191.
Last years Rally discussion is at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...8-a-37346.html. Note that the Campground Website has been changed (see above for current link).
We are planning to attend, but I have not called yet so I hope our favorite site is still available. [Maybe Sue and I can have a normal Rally this spring.]
Regarding other opportunities for Rallying:
While I cannot find the Cherry Blossom Rally on the Rally calendar yet, in an earlier post, Geven posted "The CBR is scheduled for April 2-5, 2009."
The Kentucky Rally is April 16-19 at Natural Bridge KY. The discussion thread is http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288/dogwoods-and-bluegrass-kentucky-rally-45370.html.

And be back at work by 7:30 a.m. on Sunday for graduation ceremony. I have thought of that though! It's a 3 hour drive for me, so on second thought, I'm thinking that won't work.
